I agree with you about Flashfoods. When you first started doing it and mentioned it, I looked into it and started doing it too. I used to be able to get bags of marked down meats for 1/2 price that I could fill our freezers with. I have checked for months and months now, and all of the stores around us that participate in FF there is never anything worthwhile. It just isn't worth going out for anymore. I have started to wonder if the stores just stopped participating as much with FF and have gone back to the way they used to do it and just mark down their groceries and sell them themselves. I don't know, I just know here in the midwest it isn't what it used to be at all.

It will be so good for you to be able to work through your pantry/freezer stores. People tend to forget that food doesn't stay good forever and does need to be eventually eaten. It's fun and challenging to build the stores up but also to use it up. Waste not, want not! 😊

So good to see you again. Do you know what they are going to do for your kidney stones? My son started having them when he was 16. He’s now 32. I love the picture behind you when you were on the couch! It’s beautiful. The forecast for NE Missouri is 12 to 14 inches starting tonight. I had to get more groceries yesterday than I expected. I was shocked at how much I spent. I live in a tiny apartment with no storage space so I can’t stock up like I want to. Wishing you the speediest recovery!!

I’ve had them since I was 14! They’re not moving or causing pain right now, so nothing really needs to be done yet. If and when they do, I have a good urologist I’ll go to. ❤️ And yes, grocery prices are INSANE. I think they’re calling for around a foot here too, which is very unbelievable.

Have a regular title to your video then at the end put PFP#1, PFP#2, etc. PFP is Pantry Freezer Project this way people will know it's a new video from the regular title but also the day for the PFP. Glad that you are feeling better and on the mend. God is so good to hear our prayers for you. For someone who has not practiced eating at home for the majority of time it will be hard but this is a good time to practice this behavior. Hope the rest of your recovery is smooth.

If you start cooking from scratch the restaurant won’t taste good. We used to eat out more too but I started cooking from scratch during the pandemic and on and it’s actually not a treat anymore to eat out. The only exception is a good seafood restaurant, one that’s not a chain….Straight off the gulf seafood. Good luck! Happy Cooking!😊

@ you don’t have to take new pics just like a flash back here’s where it was then the new video shows what it is after the month just show the at first the before and look now. Then the next video here’s what it started at and look now. It’s hard for me to explain lol.

Our dog, Bella, does the same thing with her food. lol. We are also doing a freezer/pantry cleanout. I have things in my pantry, especially canned goods, that have a use by date of this year (some have a use by date of last year so we will definitely use those first). I also have several different sauces/dressings that I've had for at least a year that need to be used. We don't have as much as you, but I'm sure we have enough for at least 2-3 months food wise. Household stuff is a different story. I know I will have to buy some household stuff. My goal is to try to find the good deals on household stuff while I'm doing this freezer/pantry cleanout so I can kind of stock up a bit on that. We will also have the same rules, if it is a really good deal, I will buy. I will also have to buy things like milk, eggs, bread, and fresh fruit/veggies (when I don't have time to make it). We are also doing a low spend month for January as well. We do have some debt, so we are hoping to pay off a few things with the money we save. We have a few gift cards to 2 different restaurants, (we got for Christmas) so when we really just want to eat out (usually on a weekend) we will use the gift cards so nothing comes out of our pocket. Glad you are doing well after your surgery.

My family is going through a hard season right now. My husband has been off work for a month for medical leave. We were not prepared. 1 temporary disability 2 emergency fund 3 a well stocked freezer and pantry. It was hard going a whole month without him getting a paycheck. It will still be another two weeks before he gets paid again.

It’s very hard to fight the urge sometimes but in 2024, we only ate out maybe 2 or 3 times the entire year. We don’t enjoy eating outside of the home because it’s always a let down for the amount of money spent. I use your channel as inspiration for meal ideas because it’s easy to get in a rut.
@allthingshomeyt16 күн бұрын
It truly is a huge letdown for us every time too. The only nice thing is the break from cooking & cleaning. But then we always feel upset/guilty for how much money we spent on something we didn’t even get to truly enjoy because it wasn’t great.
@christyfinley909916 күн бұрын
@@allthingshomeytthat is the same for us. It’s nice to get a break from cooking but the food is always disappointing and we like our home cooked meals better.
@kristinwb17 күн бұрын
I know this would be a big endeavor, but are you going to track the items you're using over the course of a month so you get a good sense of how much of each item you need to maintain in your basement pantry? That would give you a target for what you need to have on hand in your rotating stock.
@allthingshomeyt16 күн бұрын
That would be really great. I don’t know if I want to tackle that or not though. I like the thought of the end result though.
@kristinwb16 күн бұрын
@@allthingshomeyt I agree, it's sooooo much work. My family has struggled with how much "basement pantry" stock to maintain and how full our freezers really need to be to work through that shelf-stable or frozen food in a timely manner. Now I'm toying with the idea myself of tracking for a month! The trick will be that we use different things at different times of year. It would be so nice to have an idea in my mind with how full the shelves and freezers "should" be.
