I expect Mario Kart and 3D Mario in the same year. It’s Mario’s 40th anniversary. It’ll be a very Mario year. One at launch and one later, either way round. I also expect news on the second movie in a Direct at some point, like they’ve done before with castings.

@candyneige6609 So it would make more sense to make *Mario Kart Double Dash 2* Instead of Mario Kart 9+ especially since the number 9 in japan is not a lucky number. It's also one of the reasons among many others that Nintendo lost money on Mario Party 9 due to bad publicity and legally required reprints due to "offensive language" in England. But the main reason Mario Party 9 didn't do well was the lack of a competitive mode that did not require teamwork in minigames. (Still I think it's a good edition to have as a collector if you own several Mario Party games.

If I have to guess when Mario Kart 9 will come out, I think either holiday 2025 or 2026. Honestly I don't care when it will come out. We've been waiting for over a decade for new game, I can easely wait another year or two. Also I'm don't expect Mario Kart 9 to be a launch title for the Nintendo Switch successor, and I never have.

Now THIS is the REAL Switch 2 discussion we should be having (all along in fact) than talking about the hardware because without the games, this system means literally nothing. That's literally applied to every system, if there's no games that are quality and varied, then why should we care about the system or any system for that matter? That being said, I hope we get the next Mario Kart soon enough especially since it's Mario's 40th anniversary next year which means another massive year for the franchise for the third time in a row.

Many say that Tour is Mario Kart 9. I do believe we'll get a new Kart game sometime after the launch. I was speculating that the new Kart game would be a launch title so I don't think it will be anymore. Supposedly the Switch 2 will be around 400-500 bucks.
