Ben Affleck is a hot mess. He doesn't seem to have the emotional stability or maturity to maintain an healthy romantic relationship. You can have a fun honeymoon period with anyone but a real relationship requires tremendous work. Jennifer Garner seems to be an incredibly stable individual...she's not a drama queen. Her response to the nanny situation is a 100 times classier than anything he's ever said. I'm sure she was immensely hurt and angry but she remained very respectful of her children's father. I'm glad Ben Affleck is no longer involved with Jennifer Garner...she's always been way too good for him. Her current relationship with John Miller seems like a very good fit...they've been going strong for five years.

Alcoholism is a family disease. If married both parties have to work hard to deal w/it. 12 Step recovery programs, so each party can adapt/learn. It seemed to me that Jennifer did her part, but he didn’t. Recovery isn’t a one way street. Given his track record, she’s better off w/out him. But it’s v/hard for their kids

Ben I'm so very sorry about your troubles. I too had a father with the exact same issue, which affected me as well. What you see and deal with as a child effects us as well. I too have struggled with the same issue. It's due to the fact that's what, us as children, see so we as well seem to think even crave to do the same. However, seeing that you've tried so very hard to help youself means you are a great person as well as a father. I thank everyone that's been or is in your life to have tried their very best to help!!! I especially give credit to your then wife Ms. Garner for all of her support. The part that broke my heart was when Jennifer Garner said that she had to explain to their children what a "scandal" was.. i mean it's just so heartbreaking for her and their children.. I'm a recovering addict myself and i commend her so much for putting his disease first and focusing on his health and well being more than the cheating scandal with the nanny and everything.. but as an addict myself I definitely don't view his alcoholism as any type of excuse or "get out of jail free" card type thing.. I'm not saying that he made an excuse out of it or tried to make his disease into some type of temporary scape goat as I have no idea of the exact details of his affair, his relapse or of their eventual divorce
