Yet another reminder that I need to work on my hip rotation. The Universe seems to be speaking to me on that subject. I'll get right on it!

Immediate recovery after a run/race is one that has become important for me of late, to not take it lightly. Gnarly trail there near tucson, but scenc, probably jaguar territory....though your male companion's 1inch Boa shorts wouldve scared it off. I kid, good look.

Hahaha!! I think the jaguar has relocated actually.

I just want to say thank you so much for your videos. I lived in Tucson for a long time a long time ago and did a lot of trail running on those trails. It's so good to see them again, in fact, you made me so nostalgic for them I came back in January just to do some running (I live in England now) and I will do more often. I just love seeing those trails again and of course, I love the content!

I just returned from an afternoon 5km in El Paso's Franklin Mountains - oh my gosh I have to get used to this heat again. I love your cool down rug. I just use a crappy old towel, but yes I do those same hip flexor stretches. They saved me in a bad hip injury many years ago. I like your warm up leg swings too. My typical warm up routine is some pacing with heavy breathing exercises for about 5 minutes. My cool down, especially in this heat, is a wet towel stored in my ice chest - ice water is such a shock after a hot run in the desert, it is so painful, but I love it!! Followed by some quick him stretches and maybe a nap LOLOL

Ice towel waiting at the car?!?! That’s genius! I’ll have to add that into my post run routine this summer.

I think you need strong calves. 7 times body weight when running. I think you use your glutes more when you plant your foot and stance phase rather than pushing off. If you don't drop your hip or bang your knees your glutes are working fine.

Extremely dumb to hike these trails in shorts

Snakes are sweet! The Tucson trail runners love them.

Rattlesnakes can bite through thin materials, so unless she wants to run the desert in Carhartts, or loose thick jeans, pants won't offer much protection. "Extremely dumb" to say rude things, especially without researching first. Be nice. 😉

@@Kelly_Ben you are just full of assumption aren’t you. I was pointing out the obvious because you people believe in living in an eco chamber where nothing bad happens. I wonder what people are doing when they get bit by snakes while out on the trail. Would it be easier to get bit running through the desert or taking your time? I suggest learning to run in jeans

Great tips, I already do some but I'll add the others! When I'm about to run, I'm usually swatting at swarms of mosquitos, so lying still on the ground is NOT an option! Sadly with cooldown too. I do a quick dynamic cooldown, dive into my truck swearing heavily, and do my static stretching at home. 🦟 🦟 I'm so jealous of places that have such beautiful runnable trails. Mine are either flat and groomed, or rugged, technical, and steep!

I'm familiar with living in an active war zone against mosquitos. My whole track and cross country years looked like that so I get it. I wouldn't wish a long lying on the ground warm up on anyone in a place with vicious mosquitos.
