Cheers Loyd 👌🏻 Good to catch up with you and Liga at the running show, thanks for the selfie, haha. Interested in those new Salomon's and I'll be picking up a pair of the Cielo X1 2.0 when they are released 👌🏻

Tried on a few pairs of the Prodigio, felt great apart from the front of the tongue dug into my foot. Thanks for taking the time to have a photo with my lad Stanley on Saturday, made his weekend!!

Speedland is my favorite trail brand - I’m using the Silverton for the Southern States 200-Mile next month. The quality and precision of all their products is peerless.

Need more trail shoes with ankle gaiter like prodigio pro, slab3 or Arc sylan. Please manufacturer, make this a de facto feature…
@Marsubleu7 күн бұрын
Having recently sprained my ankle on a trail (bad landing on a stone), I feel the reviews lack insights on the stability of the shoes. With this recent experience, I now realize what issues high stacks raise, especially when combined with a narrow heel base and loose heel counter (which is an issue with my arcteryx Sylan and Norda 001). It feels like these "pro" models are actually pretty inadequate for non-pro trail runners or very technical trails (or a combination of both). Might not be a problem in a muddy hilly terrain, but then be a dangerous piece of gear in rocky steep trails.
@Run4Adventure7 күн бұрын
I totally agree, a deeply stacked trail running shoe can be super unstable on rocky trails! I’ve mentioned this in lots of my trail shoe reviews over the years. Hope your ankle recovers quickly 🤞🙂

I'm very interested to try the Prodigio Pro... hoping that the front of the ankle collar (top eyelet support) doesn't dig into the front of my ankle bone, which unfortunately was the case with the standard Prodigio.

Hi Lloyd. I've recently signed up for my first ultra - Round the rock. Having previously done this what shoes would you recommend for the distance and terrain please ?
@Run4Adventure4 күн бұрын
That’s great, it’s a brilliant race! Shoe choice for that kind of distance is so personal so it’s tricky to say? What shoes would you normally wear on the trails🤔
@rickpalmer52094 күн бұрын
Thanks for the reply! Currently I'm using agility peak 5 after your review. I just wasn't sure if they would be suitable for that event or not and having ran it i was just curious to see what you would choose if you did it again ! @Run4Adventure

The salomon ultra glide reminds me of the Columbia faucet. Which u can get for $100. Lol

I think the S/Lab Ultra Glide is a very different trail running shoe compared to the Columbia Faucet 🤷♂️

I'm with you. My solution is to buy some s-lab ultras when they go on sale this year and get the s-lab ultra glides next year when they're less dear. @loyd: maybe do a video at some point pointing to great shoes from the last couple seasons you'd recommend to folks lookin to save a bit but still run in great kit?
@francoisbouchet99079 күн бұрын
@@wittgenstoned you've just described the business-model of shoe (but not only) brands. --> Release the latest product at the highest price possible and get your fan base purchase it, then as newer models are launched, drop the prices for a wider range of purchasers. The price is lowered but the margins went higher in the meantime, so you're still optimizing your ROI. :)
