This skill looks fantastic but a little complicated. I've always thought Necromany would be a cool skill in RuneScape. Adding an entirely new combat style is exciting.

As a summoner main for every RPG/MMORPG I've played since I first played the D2 Necromancer, I am very excited. I've been playing Runescape almost as long as Diablo 2 so it'll be a little dream come true to be a Necro in Runescape. Hope the summons are balanced well and don't force you to constantly worrying about resummoning them.

I have this thing for some reason where whenever I start RS I have to start on a fresh account and build it up . Last time I played i got 99 is most things except herb and arch. Might have to make another and start again with necromancy out.

I kind of like that the autoattacks are actually important. They made a lot of pretty and fluid looking autoattack animations when they moved to EoC, but you basically never see them because you're always doing abilities

Well there's always afk slayer and combat training on weaker monsters, plus you could always switch to legacy for a bit.

Can you get necromancy exp just but killing any mob with necromancy? Or only specific mobs like slayer. Because if it's just killing, then it'll be an easy 200m

They said that although you can get combat xp, it's gain being lowered for necromancy so you can't just run ed3 to train it effectively. Not to mention they have on the main page that they will butcher ed3 xp rates again.

This is the first time it's occurred to me that the classic 138 is finally increasing, and not for arbitrary reasons like when EoC released, but for genuine "more combat skills are out" reasons. That just feels.... historic. I'm so excited for Necro, because it even opens the door to future combat skills going forward, maybe runescape can finally be more like other MMOs with different play styles through classes, but without the restrictions those games suffer from. I just keep getting more excited the more I see.

Dumb question, are you able to use necromancy outside of the specific zone for necromancy?

As you can see in the video, the skill is usable pretty much anywhere in combat. To train using rituals, you'll need to travel to the ritual site.

@@anomaligg814 Protoxx showed mainly the use against bosses, which are often in darker dungeons :D The combat dummies that were shown are in the area called War's Retreat, a sort of pvm hub. Also sinister-themed - I see why you got the impression ;D

Can you use necromancy while using other combat styles or is there a penalty for doing so? Like do summoned skeletons and zombies do less damage if you don't have necromancy gear? Or are all the other combat styles going to incorporate necromancy to some extent?

From what I've seen as far as I'm aware summoning them is a Necro skill and you won't have access to it without having Necro gear on. Same as you can't do a melee ability with magic gear on.

@@captain9737 Those incantations I am interested in personally. Look like they might be usable by all, but needs verifying. Not heard anyone say anything about em, and the introduction trailer did not mention anything besides you needing one of the four new rune types to use em.
