Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon was revealed by FromSoftware at The Game Awards, and new details regarding what players can expect from the 2023 title have been shared. FromSoftware is no stranger to creating highly regarded action RPGs with titles like Bloodborne and Dark Souls, and this year's release of Elden Ring won the developer the Game of the Year award. Its next project will be the first Armored Core entry since 2013.

I played the AC1 Demo on ps1 brand demo disc when I was like 7 or 8 growing up so I know this feel. :] AC was a major part of my childhood 2, 2nd age, 3, silent line, nexus, last raven were great games for their time. 4 answer is my personal fave, it plays so wild and fast and I love it.(Never got around to playing 4, tho I always heard 4A was a better game even though it was a sequel.) V/VD weren't particularly my cup of tea, I liked the idea of clan based warfare, but I preferred the gameplay of 4A better, I did of course manage to do some actual PVP clan based territory disputes tho back when the servers were up and I thought it was interesting could've been a bit better fleshed out though.

My first AC is AC3, and my most favorite is ACFA then got disappointed by ACV. I'm now 21 and extremely hype for AC6.

I don't think it's just nostalgia. A LOT of people who've never played the Armored Core games seem to be very hyped for this. As someone who's been playing the games since AC2 on the PS2, I'm extremely excited.

One thing that the NA gameplay trailer lacked, was that AC6 is confirmed to play at a locked 60fps on console. So the graphics are a bit reduced because it intendeds to be a high framerate game.

@@Unbr3akable_EG0 pretty much. although you don't design it by scratch as you start with a basic AC depending on the corporation you sign for but as you progress you get an insane amount of parts and weapons for every single purpose with all kinds of designs. then there is the paint system which lets you create anything you want and put it on your mech. which results in some of the coolest community designs. the schematics and emblems can be share with the community too, it is literal mecha porn hahah! add to it, every part you use FEELS different when you pilot your mech. there is a specific AC Test mode that lets you try your assembled design, it is ridiculously detailed you're gonna love it

I honestly think that the control will be vastly improved from the previous games especially with all the control options we have today, not to mention this is coming out after 2 great remakes that improved their respective control schemes in Dead Space and Resi4 Remake.

I wouldn't call RE4 Remakes removal of the excellent arcade laser-focused shooting mechanics with a shaky reticle an "improvement" personally just because you can move slowly. Leon can no longer stand his ground. It's a downgrade imo. But yes, in Armored Core the controls will undoubtedly be improved.

I love all the little references to other ACs and other IPs. When they call you a dog, it reminds me of Old King in AC4A "Ah, greetings lap dog.". They call you one of Walter's hounds which is a call back to Chromehounds. Of course all the Dark Souls references and reference to Ravens which everyone gets. Its such a love letter to true fans.

AC:MoA is my first game experience for this series. I love the arena mode back then since it provides immersion to the already complicated gameplay and customization of the game. Battling Hustler One without the Human Plus mechanic sure is difficult but still doable.

So, I'm an old school AC fan, (from AC 1 to Verdict Day), and I wouldn't be surprised if AC 6 sold very well out of the gate, then dropped off of the radar fairly quickly. As you mentioned, it is a niche series, so it will be tough for newcomers to hold an interest in after the first few months, but, Fromsoftwares pedigree will likely drive early sales numbers that break records for this title. Afterwards however, I expect a drop-off in both sales and interest...

yeah this game looks good. i never played armored core but i did feel the nostalgia while watching this for other mech games i used to play. it looks like anybody that's a fan of giant robot battles would like it.

I was surprised with the graphics too, although Fromsoft is not known for its photorealistic RT eye candy, i guess Fromsoft is more focused on scale than textures

I'm willing to bet that they put more focus on how smoothly the game runs. If you've played other titles, you may remember that playstations often had trouble in that area (I can't speak for xbox, never owned one). Looks like this one may have corrected that trend.

Well, it IS a cross-gen game. My understanding is that it's been in development for quite a while, so it's not terribly surprising. From has always been more art direction then graphics anyways.

They showed that off mostly because it's flashy, also in previous titles a lot of players created a "Blading only" culture so its like a shout out to them. Armored Core has always been primarily a gunner game with melee options if you want it.

It will have a better melee system in place compared to previous titles, but the devs have said AC6 will have great gun play as always. There are obviously AC in the trailer with guns in both hands so it's not like you will be forced to carry one. Just look forward to them being more varied and useful 👍

Sorry for not explaining but yes as Asian said. I'm getting more AC4-AC4A from this but I get what your saying about nostalgia. I forget most people probably only started with AC1 and etc. but never got to experience AC4 and AC4A. I'm just happy it's finally getting light and From Soft is attention to their games.
