Got the 258 version transtube rage. It's a bit like this still for metal maybe a little better even. But dude the cleans, blues, and rock is superb. It struggles in a cool ass way with high gain. It certainly comes to life through bigger speakers

Great video; always dug the Peavey / Crate / Marshall solid state low-end stuff.

I had the same little Peavy Rage. Got that "saturation" button. Lol.

I’ve considered running my guitar through my PA system and recording that. I bet I could get some good ambient tones that way.

link to the speaker jack? it's not in the description. 6 for $9 sounds like a good deal

Is it possible to get a modern tone this way? This all sounds very 90s death metal-ish and I'm wondering what else you can do with it.
@NickLeonard2 ай бұрын
@@visionswords5477 I think that's somewhat intrinsic to these amps, the tube screamer tone is about as modern as it gets. They're super tight and both of these amps had their mids boosted, neither have an fx loop for an extra eq stage post gain.

@@NickLeonardno Eq pedal???
@NickLeonard2 ай бұрын
@@MajorGRecording I could run a pre eq, but that doesn't have as big of an effect as post amp eq (fx loop)
