Figuring out your boundaries as a person in general is hard, especially when you're doing something new and you're not sure exactly what to expect. Self-awareness is a critical building block in the tool box of someone's life but often is the hardest to cultivate and define, since every situation changes the boundary levels. The only way to figure out what you're comfortable with accepting or not is to get in the thick of new experiences. Mimi was absolutely right. Leaving your comfort zone is the only way you'll grow, and then know when to say no! (Did not rhyme intentionally but what a happy accident haha) 😄

I'm definitely an introvert! I left my corporate career last year because of burn out and decided I wanted a creative life. My head is pushing me towards graphic design or UX/UI design because tech is my industry - but I know I'll burn out quickly if I take that path. My heart knows I have always wanted to be an artist and illustrator so I'm NOT listening to my head for the first time in my life! 🎨😍

that sounds just like the path i'm on (though i was laid off). UX design seems intriguing but i'm already so burnt out and chronically fatigued/pained that i can't fathom the idea of having to go back to working on a team and dealing with meetings and being "on" all day and long hours of typing. i've loved drawing portraits for 20 years; it's time to lean into and indulge that passion, rather than grinding my edges down to fit into a round hole.

I feel you on that. I am certainly going back to school for UX/UI design but I also still draw on the side which helps push my brain to be creative. I will say though that you can still do freelance work as a UX/UI design although I do hear it’s a bit tricky to do since you have to constantly communicate with your client. As an introvert, I plan on working remotely so I don’t have to deal with being in an office space but I will also be working on making an art shop as a backup plan just in case something happens. 😭

Thank you for your insights and as a introverted myself this is really helpful. I started my channel this year and I'm not comfortable enough to show myself, so I'm just doing voice overs. May be someday I make it, love you for speaking for all the introverts. 😊

Hi Mimimoo! For sure I am an introvert, and still learning how to protect my energy. I was laid off from a mortgage loan officer position and I couldn't be happier! I am now creating websites, art, photography, and music on my Mac. For me, your channel is inspiration to continue this journey. I'm working my Pomodoro today, and your video was a break I needed! I worked on a shop for my photographs, now I will work on a course I am building for people who want to take better photos with their mobile phones. Thank you for the much needed break. -Patti

I'm an absolute introvert and I wish I weren't because I'd like to do youtube videos too (since it seems impossible to grow one's account for example on Instagram nowadays) but I don't want to get in front of the camera or even speak. Also I have kind of an impostor syndrom and I'm so much an introvert that don't think I have much to add to what hundreds of others already have said. Which makes even getting an idea on what or how to do a youtube channel even harder.

I'd have to say I'm in between an introvert and extrovert (not sure if there is a word for that) 😊 I need time to recharge after getting together with people but also do not have much of a problem getting up before people to speak. Great video!

I'm also an introvert artist and im terrified of talking to clients!!! I used to be so extroverted when I was younger and I dont know how I got this way! Is it weird that I loved this video but I seem to be even more introverted than you are Hahaha! You sound so confident when talking! I cant even do that!

I have to write everything in script form first so that I'm confident with what I'm saying and then I can read it out for a voice-over - I don't think I could just talk to camera without a script like other people do!

I am also a big introvert, and sometimes this annoys me because I am not good at expressing my art with words. I just show it, and sometimes it is frustrating because there is no interaction even though I try my best and put a lot of time into what I do.
