The one type of trade I can’t stand is the scaffolding trade. Leave their scaffolds up for months. Poles too close to the wall or the lifts in the wrong place.

As someone who has never built anything and jealous of people who can build and plaster, i've always wondered how many courses of brick you can lay before the weight would affect (crush?) the layers of mortar below it?

Depending on the bricks. Some go off straight away so you could put 22 yo 24 course on. Some hardly any courses. I've layed 20 course of concrete bricks today on a big corner. They took the height but just didn't go off
