Running Away from the Landlord

The plaintiff says the defendant is his tenant and stiffed him on rent - and left the place a total mess. He’s suing for what he’s owed. The defendant says the plaintiff was his friend and let him do whatever he wanted but then changed his tune when the defendant found another place. He’s countersuing for all he’s out.
