I've done two up at 90... And I really didn't have a problem

Your full of it ! The Honda Shadow can handle any riding, I should know I own one

I need to eventually pull the baffles out as I'm curious how much of a sound difference there is.

I will be using mine aero on the highway (CA.) I will have a few opportunities to ride at 70-80mph. Pockets of the ride will be 60-70mph in the morning to work, and the commute in the afternoon to home will be mostly splitting lanes under 40mph with a few pockets of 50-60mph. This is until I upgrade in a year or so.
@LuckyAcesRiding8 ай бұрын
For your intended use it should serve you fine.

I have to wonder if some of the issue of those handlebars
@lucksury4 ай бұрын
Based on your tach, it looks and sounds like the bike doesn’t really start to open up until after 3k rpms so going at 4k rpms for long periods of time probably isn’t the worst by any means by also probably pushes it more than usual I would assume

I can't remember where peak power is made but redline is somewhere around 6200 so there is plenty of room left. I personally just don't enjoy those speeds on this bike, especially without a windshield.

Is it possible to change out the handlebar controls for “sleek/newer” ones? I feel like they look kind of dated and wanted to swap mine out. Loved your 25min bobber breakdown, it was very informative!
@LuckyAcesRiding8 ай бұрын
The actual controls? Most likely it can be done but you are talking either universal or custom at that point.
@MistuhrVex8 ай бұрын
@@LuckyAcesRiding Do you ever see yourself doing it for your bobber build? And if you do, would you make a video about it? Your turn signal video helped me a lot with the wiring and gave me courage to do it myself. Would love to see more like that.
@LuckyAcesRiding8 ай бұрын
@@MistuhrVex I do not have any plans to change them out currenty but if I do I should be able to put a video together. Thank you for the feedback on the other video, that is very encouraging. I am glad someone is getting value out of them.

I've heard changing the rear sprocket might get you better range on highway speeds...have you heard of that too?
@LuckyAcesRiding6 ай бұрын
On the chain driven Shadows changing out the sprocket is akin to changing the gearing. Depending on how many teeth the rear sprocket determines acceleration and top speed.
@onebadls16 ай бұрын
Yeah that's kinda what I want to shoot for, since my ride to work is all 70mph speed limit
@LuckyAcesRiding6 ай бұрын
@@onebadls1 Keep in mind if you have a shaft drive 750 (Aero and some Spirit models) there is no sprocket to change and you are stuck with the stock gearing.

Just by the sound of it, it sounds like its still got alittl bit more in it. Doesn't sound to different from when I go on the major highways here on my 1100
@LuckyAcesRiding8 ай бұрын
Maybe a little but any more would be pushing it. I would not want to keep it rev'd up like that for a long period of time.

Almost never do interstate/multi-lane hwy. riding on my 750 ACE, it's not built for it. Like you say, it can do it, but neither you or the bike will be happy about it. Two lane roads,and under sixty for me.

65 is about perfect for me. Just this short jaunt, I could feel it in my hands for sure. Then there is the wind, at 80 mph and no shield it is more than I am looking for..

I love this debate, I'm the odd man out here. At 120KMh/70mph my bike thrives. I can sit right in the middle of the power band and have ~30kmh left to twist out at an "okay" acceleration before it gives up. But anyone I've let ride my bike has always told me it runs incredibly well... and since I'm new I believe them 🤣

You let other people ride you bike? I couldn't do that lol!
