I am a new DM a one-shot has progressed into a campaign, with just four sessions in I've been binging your videos and they have been the most useful videos I've ever come across. In the performing arts, we have a phrase: "Be strong and wrong". Make a bold choice and commit to it. And if that choice doesn't work out, we can always change it. But it is much easier to start from somewhere than to start from nowhere/neutral

So thought on the "weak point" some people look at HP more like luck than health, so a way to reflavor it could be that each attack that hits does reduce the dragon's HP, but in RP it looks like it does nothing, then that finial hit is what does go into the weak point. Another thought is to reduce the HP by a LOT, so now it's only 2 or 3 hits to kill the dragon, and the first few rounds are working on finding that spot.
