Every Dyno Operator should invest in a Plex Tuning Knock Monitor which is the best Knock Detection System on the market bar none. It is extremely adaptable and can be as simple as listening to see if knock is occurring (you would hear it in the headphones long, long before you hear it standing next to it) or you can set up advanced mode monitoring and it will show what cylinder is knocking and how much. One blown engine will more than pay for one. Keep up the good work !!!

I'm no NITROUS doctor but what implementation has been done to the stock ECU for when the nitrous is added to reduce the timing under NITROUS operation ?
@DWTSVIDS3 жыл бұрын
this, and does it add fuel? As the ecu probably doesnt calculate with the extra introduced oxygen thus running a leaner mixture increasing the chance of detonation.
@travis72123 жыл бұрын
@@DWTSVIDS it’s a wet shot so fuel is being injected along with nitrous. And I’m assuming because they have the ability to tune it, they also took some timing out of it for the nitrous.

Hey Charles I'm a long vw enthusiasts. My first car was a 1983 volkswagon Gti. I loved that car. It actually saved my life and my friends life. I was racing a camera back in the day and was taking a a turn faster than the car could handle and fished taled the rear end going about 80 mph. The whole hatch was smashed all the the rear seats. I had 2 guys sitting in the back and nobody was hurt. But enough if that. I had many cars since than but I am falling in love with a 2013 vw cc. The one I found has 107k and I found it in Sacramento. Has normal California weather but is within 100 miles of the snow. Don't know the history yet. I just want to know if it's going to be a reliable car ? It's for sale for 8k but others I found same year go about 13k. It's never been in an accident says the carfax but what am I missing. It's at a dealership. But why the price difference? Please respond. I like the 2013 because it's has more upgrades than 2011 and 2012. And looks like a better car. I want to purchase a car with in a week. Can you help me. I really love your show. You fix cars more than what I planned to do but you are also what I can see. The humble mechanic. I love how your truth full about all vw. Thank you for your awesome work.

I run an AEM 50-1000 as a lift pump in my 20v. A little modification to the basket is needed but it works. Bottom of basket drilled out and pump held in place using external fuel pump sound deadening foam it's such a tight fit inside that no further securing method was needed. Hope that helps.

@@HumbleMechanic The AEM pump is awesome once you get it fit with a little fettling. 😊 A huge amount of aftermarket "drop in" pumps available but unfortunately a lot of them aren't up to scratch and come with a huge chunk of failure rates. 😭 Definitely made the right decision with the AEM. It did sound like detonation more so than the nitrous solenoid (as unreliable as it is listening to a video) I'd get your tuner to pull a big chunk of timing out, like 6 degrees or more and see if it goes away. Even inaudible knock will kill an engine, if it's detonating loud enough to pick it up on video, you're really on borrowed time. Pulling a big chunk of timing won't hurt anything in the short term but could identify your issue pretty quick. Or run the fuel as low as possible and fill it up with 110 race gas. (Or do both and stick the big jet back in!)

One step cooler range spark plugs. Also need to pull ignition timing with the injection of the nitrous. If you guys are running a tune (sorry I don't remember if you were), pull timing for sure. Nitrous doesn't care about advanced timing because you are going to get peak cly pressure early anyways, But you will blow nice holes in pistons with to far advanced timing.

I know that is late but i know that the stock fuel pump can be replaced with the aem fuel pump, but you need to open the white case and use the stock filter from old pum. You won't need 2 lpfp, you need only one but with much more debit (not pressure) than the the stock one. This upgrade is needed to avoid fuel starvation because of hpfp. Another solution is to use the stock lpfp and with a surge tank installed on the supply line. I know this info from a vw mk4 gti 1.8t tunned (is the same with audi a3 1.8t).... Hope is the same thing with tfsi... Another thing: the the A/F sensor for gauge is recommended to be install close to turbocharger, same as stock o2 sensor, to read precisely. 😊 P.S. Sorry for my english, bcs i'm from romania..

Without a check valve, what's stopping the fuel from one pump backing up and going down the other branch of the Y fitting, instead of towards the engine? Seems like that wouldn't be good for the second pump. I see no reason a higher volume pump can't be installed _in place of_ the factory pump, instead of strapped to the outside of the sump, which also lets you keep it as an effective swirl pot. And as an added bonus, it would all actually fit into the tank. :-P
@jonas0001113 жыл бұрын
I think it was made apparently clear by them that the kit was a pile of crap and they won't use it again or even recommend it. FWIW fuel pumps, when off, do not allow flow in either direction.
