Just got done setting up my pc for emulation. I did everything from Atari to PS2 everything in 4k. And just a heads up for anyone that wants to try it out Steam has retroarch on it now. Its not to hard to set up and it has a lot of systems on it plus if you know how to you can add cores that it don't have to it manually.

Its less about Sony letting you play them and more about them not putting enough effort into their own emulator. Unless you expect Sony to open up the console for third party software, which they would never do (they don't even allow proper mods for Skyrim). This Microsoft situation is an interesting side effect of the developer mode.

13:35 @SomeOrdinaryGamers, it depends on the emulators, but generally you want Really Fast Single core performance, not focus on having more cores, having more cores and maybe threads means the emulator can split some tasks like audio, compressing or decompressing some files, UI, etc. Some emulators do kind of utilize multiple cores for the game, like Cemu, PCSX2, etc, but after 3 or 4 cores there won't be much benefit i think. PCSX3 does really utilize your cores. Btw, having more physical cores is better than having a lot of threads. But aside, current CPU's, like AMD's Ryzen of this gen, are incredibly fast and powerful, especially a 5600X, so in that regard your right.

Oh my fucking god, someone actually mentioned that fucking Konami Skateboarding game demo that was on MGS2 Subsistence and featured Snake skateboarding, BECAUSE the hip trend at the time was Tony Hawk Pro Skating clones. I honestly had to pause the video when you mentioned "Snake boarding", and have a good 5 minute laugh and reminisce to myself about it. Mess around with the shaders and antialiasing. You can make the upscale look even better than that. I use retroarch on my android phone and my media PC.

16:36 That has been sorted out. People compile their shaders for these games and upload the file. You just have to put it in a specific directory inside the emulator directory. I did it for MK8 and BOTW on the Cemu emulator.
