That is the number one task to check before launching. You need to attend a basic boating course, it may save your life.

I always drain my ski after ocean use and there is always a dribble of salt water . I always give a light spray in the hull with salt away and drain and air . I then fog the engine and put 1/4 can SEADOO xps anti corrosion spray into the engine bay hitting all the electrical connections . 12 years of only ocean riding and never problems .

Not to beat the dead horse brother but this situation is like having a gun, you always have to check that the gun safety is on regardless of what. Please, always do a 360 check before going into the water (boating 101). We are humans and we all make mistakes, however we can prevent them. Glad that you are good and made it safe. Keep enjoying that awesome machine. Cheers!🍻

Checking the drain plugs is your responsibility, bud! It’s a part of the pre-ride checklist.

Warranty items I take it in. But the dealer should have more responsible techs. I had an issue with another dealer now who took my ski out to test ride and crashed it into my trailor and then tried to hide it and I proved they did it.

I hear you bro, but you should always check your drain plugs no matter what!

Yep, I check now that's for sure.

They did shitty work on my SKi as well. Great seals reps and they stripped out screws on some rails I had installed on my new Ski.

I went to Brandon powersports the past few times. Few issues with them as well. Looks like it's not just Tampa Powersports.

Thanks for showing us things to be aware of. Did you go back there, and if so did they make things right?

No I no longer go to Tampa powersports. They have addressed some of the issues but they still continued their poor attitude at my final drop off and have since been going to Rockstar Brandon

Buy Sea-Doo XPS spray and spray your motor with it from time to time. It's oil-based and you won't even have to use water on your engine after

Awesome, thanks for watching and the advice. I found out one of my sponsons bolt was loose and that's how the water got in the way it was. Bone dry now after reinstalling!!! Thanks for watching 🍻 🍻

Yes I learned, I didn't realize that you keep it open to keep moisture out. The dealer still suks though I have since been going to Rockstar Brandon

Good thing you have the bilge pump. The only legit complaint here is the battery strap, grease. Why would they mess with the trailer light? The drain plugs are ultimately your responsibility that they are on.

Trailor light is under warranty got water from day one, they changed it three times now. Yes I know about the drain plugs, my mistake for not checking the ski after the mechanic worked on it.

Drain plug is meant not to be screwed in when not in use if it’s in when stored it is causing condensation in ski compartment

Thanks for the advice, I usually take the seat off to air it out didn't realize about the drain plug

everything in that engine compartment should have been sprayed with WD-40 long before it got that much salt on it.
@jimthestargazer Жыл бұрын
Found out that I had sucked something through the wear ring and seal and that's why it got so much salt. The pump was keeping the water out but then last month the pump got clogged and I took on water up to the battery almost. That's how I found out there was an issue. But at least the pump was doing its job for months.

I've already complained to them and left a bad review on Google. Last straw was the recent issue I had where something went through my drive train and blew out my seal and Wear ring and I got water intrusion. They had it for 2 months waiting for some tank to test it. I took it to Rockstar Brandon and they ran the water intrusion tests and couldn't find it but they noticed that the drive train was making louder noise and they opened it up even without it being on the repair order and diagnosed it and found the parts all tore up. Two months and Tampa powersports couldn't make the diagnosis

@@jimthestargazer I can’t believe you’d go back to them after this. If it were me, I’d go straight to small claims court over that clip & the time it took you to fix their mistake
@jimthestargazer Жыл бұрын
@@arasheqajar At the time I didn't know there was another close seadoo dealer. I found Rockstar Brandon which is about the same distance to my house I didnt know was there. I was worried about the warranty and how they try to deny things if yoymdidnt have all work done by a certified mechanic. I took it in recently for the intercooler and Rockstar did a better job so far. 🍻

OMG the clips gone too? 😭
@jimthestargazer9 ай бұрын
Yes I complained to them and they went in and put new clips. Not very apologetic however. I started going to Brandon Powersports now. They also have issues with their staff, tech crashed my ski into the trailer when they water tested it gashing the paint and then they tried to claim it was like that when it came in

I had issues now with Brandon powersports crashing my ski into my trailor after they took it out to test ride. Worst part is they tried to hide it by covering it with my reflector but they left the paint in there and that proved they did it and put the cover back on. I can't catch a break
@ferrarit23812 жыл бұрын
They should have put them back on but you definitely are supposed to check those plugs before you launch and when you come back you should unplug them to let them drain also 👍🏾
@jimthestargazer Жыл бұрын
Yeah I have since learned. In my mind at the time I was expecting to get the ski back the way I gave it to them. I didn't know about keeping the plugs out to keep it aired and make sure there was no water.

seadoo should never ship them anything ever again. Also, replace the rusted bolts.
