At 3:14 one of the little ones is measuring the distance between the buckets using his hands. I love how the family is all involved with the farm. What a great life for a child growing up!

Happy mothers day to you and your mom. You 2 ladies are a couple of amazing ladies. I know your mom is a great woman because of how awesome you turned out. I also know you are an amazing mom because I see you taking care of those boys, the farm, the cows, the garden, feeding everyone with healthy food, helping your mom and dad with the Hydroponics. You are a "1 in 7.5 billion" mother and young woman. 🌹🌹🌹

Thank you and hope you had a great Mother’s Day! We had some crazy weather. I filmed some of it for the next video, but we got 3 inches of rain. It was a good day otherwise, and I got to spend lots of time with family. 🌷

Happy late mother's day wishes. Another lovely little video. You have created a nice art form. I was thinking about the dosimeter and how it must save you money on nutrients because if I am not mistaken you were throwing the old solution on the garden or sometimes just tossing it in winter. I am willing to bet you have a very good idea how much it costs you in nutrients to grow a lettuce in the summer and in the winter. It will be interesting to see how this changes.
@HomegrownPassion3 жыл бұрын
Yes that is what we do with the nutrients from the main greenhouse. It should save us money like you said, especially since we can dial in the exact amount to give the plants. That could be a good video topic.

I really enjoy your videos, we'v had a greenhouse for sometime and are just starting this year with hydroponics. I noticed with your strawberries, you're using a 20 20 20 from Miller's. Is that your feed regiment from start to finish
@HomegrownPassion3 жыл бұрын
It is so far...me may be looking at breaking the system down to have a part a-b with ph adjust but I think for this year we are going to stay with the 20-20-20. The strawberries are really coming back now that the weather is cooling down.

How does the watering/drain system work on the strawberries?
@HomegrownPassion2 жыл бұрын
So last year we just let it run on the ground. This year we are going to install a gutter system but remember the idea is not to have any drain water coming off the buckets but still enough nutrients to keep the plants fed and hydrated.
@qmoonwalker38473 жыл бұрын
Great to hear more about the new injection system. Question: does each valve pull the same nutrient mix? Or is your dad changing the nutrients depending on the crop it's going to? Thanks!

Hi again how often do you have to change the Perlite growing medium? and do you mix it with vermiculite.
@HomegrownPassion3 жыл бұрын
We don’t have to change the growing medium. It stays good for the whole duration of the growing time, and we can reuse it as well. We do two parts perlite, one part vermiculite.

Most people do not realize how much it cost and time go in to infrastructure . The green house less say cost $100000.00 putting a pad in with heating and cooling system all in to pay for installing and parts . You will need power and water !! Than all the drip lines , timers , planters , cables , drop spools , cost $20000.00 more and one year of your time ! that would be a good on to go over you have the new one set up . P.s dads labor is worth $32.50 per hour ! Have a good day .

Dialing-in and setting the correct irrigation schedule can be difficult, as each plant type requires different crop steering parameters to ensure continual healthy growth through both vegetative and generative stages. Not as easy as people may think. Cheers.

Follow all your videos but just a quick question, after the seeds have first sprouted when do you add fertiliser if any ?
@HomegrownPassion3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The seeds in the greenhouse start off with the nutrient solution right away. We soak the growing medium with it. They will also do well with a more dilute solution too.
