This was really fun to jog along with on my treadmill. I have never run a marathon. What determination and perseverance! Great job with the video and thanks for sharing. Your friend in the tinkerbell costume gave me a good chuckle.

Thanks so much for watching! I keep many of these videos long for the purpose of treadmill running.

I am 57 years old and had never run a marathon before. After toying with the idea for years, I finally decided to run the Disney marathon this year. I was not a runner whatsoever, and this required me to start my training from ground-zero. I must have watched your video literally about 30 times during the indoor parts of my training. It really inspired me; and I did end up finishing the 2023 marathon. So I really just wanted to say great job on the video and 'thanks' for the inspiration.

We love making these videos and we love that we can be apart of your journey through them. Seriously, thank you so much and congratulations again! Ps. I hope you don't mind if we share this comment!

I'm 59 and 'trying' to start running, came across this video and LOVE it! I especially appreciate that so much of it wasn't dubbed, I heard what you were hearing and believe it or not, found that so encouraging that maybe, one day, I might be able to do a Run Disney. I'm a happy, new subscriber, thank you!! Susan

Thanks so much for subscribing and welcome to our channel! We hope that you get the chance to try RunDisney sometime soon! It's a great motivator to get out and run. We have videos like this for many of the different weekends as well!

Excellent job on this video, and for getting it posted so quickly!! It was so cool to relive this course, and especially see it when I wasn't dying of heat and leg pain lol. Congratulations again! I'm already missing it!!!

Congratulations to you too! And thank you so much. Will you be at any other upcoming weekends?

@@MouseGen Not in 2022 as I've got some other run-cations on the calendar, but definitely already planning on coming back for either Marathon Weekend or Princess (both? 😊) in 2023! Looking forward to watching your content to tide me over until I return!

Nice job, I also started in Corral 1! I can't complain about the extremely early start time since it helped us beat the heat haha
@MouseGen2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! I agree about about the earlier start. Buys you a little more relief from the heat.

Nice video and thanks for sharing so much of the course. Like another comment, nice to relive the course and completely agree with your comment, the highway between mile 19 and 21 was the worst part. Congrats on the Dopey. Getting up that early 4 days in a row is the hardest part.
@MouseGen2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! Yeah that 4th day the alarm goes off and you know you are running longer than the first 3 days combined is rough 😄

Great video and congratulations. I just did the marathon myself and this definitely helps bring back the memories. Looked for myself but I started in group 3 and finished around the clock time of 4:29 so you were always just a bit ahead of me!

Hi, I ran with a insta 360 go 2 too!! Good camera Stabilization, but it is not perfect with low light situation
@MouseGen2 жыл бұрын
I agree completely. This video is a good example of how much better it is in the day. If I had time to mess with custom iso and fr it would be better too but not a lot of time mid race for that!

I just realized you ran Dopey - how did the marathon experience this time compare to prior marathons you ran “just” the marathon?
@MouseGen2 жыл бұрын
Getting up that early multiple days is really what gets you. We ran very reserved on the half to save for the full. This was definitely harder than when I ran just the marathon but I was not as well trained this time around.

We've seen Rafiki a few times and Timon quite often. Im sure at least those ones will he out. Depending on the course it would be cool to see the floats from festival out there.

@@MouseGen I wanna see my boy Scar for a meet n greet!! I also still need to book my hotel, I ain’t driving up to Orlando at 1am in the morning again.. but I also refuse to pay over 250 a night for a Disney hotel when I won’t even be in the room

What was it like running with a go pro on your forehead?
@MouseGen2 жыл бұрын
I use a camera called the insta360 go2. It is smaller and lighter than a gopro so it's really not bad.
@memolucy2 жыл бұрын
But it is the best camera right now to running with. It is so tiny, easy to carry on. I like it because of that. Check my video same race!!

I'll check out! Yeah I love it. I actually use 2 of them for races. They have some quirks but I love them haha.

Great video. I was tracing where I was the whole way, pretty much 5 minutes behind until you at every mile marker (started in first part of S2, ran 4:04) until you reached the 18 mile marker, when I am suddenly 7 minutes ahead? If the park was open, I'd swore you rode Everest. Hope nothing bad happened in that mile. Congrats for finishing, though.
@MouseGen2 жыл бұрын
I had to go back and look at the video, I did slow down a good bit the last half of the race but I think the mile 18 time was off comparing to my watch. You definitely should have passed me though somewhere in there. I had a tough run haha
@MouseGen2 жыл бұрын
Oh and congrats!!!!
@JGlennFL2 жыл бұрын
@@MouseGen Thanks! Yeah,, I actually heard somebody mention that the clocks were off. Maybe that’s where they were referring to. I’ve definitely been there as fears as having a tough last half. In 2012 I was shooting for a sub-3:30. I was on pace through 18 miles but totally bonked and walked 90% of the last 5 miles. BTW, I finally found where I passed you. You caught me on camera right at the turnaround before Blizzard Beach. I'm in the corral colored singlet. Thanks for posting! It was a great way to relive the race.
