Me and my friend ran the Malaga marathon as well and we saw Sara and Tom and it was amazing!!! If gave us an incredible boost and excitement thinking that our role model almost ahaha was running with us at least for the first half! So you had around you 19 people from the running channel community 😍 we didn’t know there was the shakeout run before so we couldn’t join but it was amazing to have a glimpse of Sara at the starting line! Thanks for your amazing videos!

I’ve run the Malaga half marathon every year since 2015 (apart from pandemic year) but the specific half in March, rather than the December combined. It’s amazing how flat it is, though the course here seems quite different. It’s so nice to be able to run in warm weather, without the excessive heat later in the year. Well done all.

I also have a goal of 2 hours for the HM. My problem is that while my 5k times are good (around 19mins) my endurance is terrible and my legs start screaming after about 15k. I guess the answer is I need to do lots more longer slower runs!
@jkc8775 күн бұрын
Yep the answer is longer easy runs. I'm surprised that you can't get sub-2 with a 19 minute 5K (which is a very very good time). Typically people who can run that can run 1:45 no problem. You'll get there!
@billystronk42515 күн бұрын
A 19 min 5k is pretty close to a sub 40 10k which is about the same as a sub 1:30 HM. If you put the training miles in you'll have no problem at all running a sub 1:45 HM within a couple months.
@flolin87663 күн бұрын
With this 5k time it will not take much to achieve a sub 90 min half Marathon. I suggest that you do a longer run like 20k, but do 15k easy and then the last 5k in race pace. So your body learns to run fast on low energy levels. Also always incoporate fueling into your runs and after.
@bendigeidfranemmanueljones5694Күн бұрын
19 for me went with 1.27 off about 30mpw. I do remember sub 2 as the best feeling though. You've a fun couple of years of big half PBs coming.

Another great video - well done - but there was a lack of jeopardy as a young fit lean young man was always going to finish a half marathon and I feel he left at least 10 minutes out there by in effect pacing Sarah. I know I love Jess for her endless energy and both her and Sarah being incessant chatterboxes but I'm not sure how I'd feel about spending two hours with them. Clearly I'm up for giving it a try but at the moment I'm being harangued to enter my first full marathon, which has never made the bucket list. A half has always just fine the idea of running for 4-5 hours hasn't been exciting this old boy.

I want a dark humor king snarky runner they are pacing for these two balls of wnergy cheer leader. You know the guy the embraces the suck and projects it. Just think the two opposing personalities would be funny. They guy complaining these ladys are killing me. I dont want to play runner anymore type person.

I dont think he gave it his best, I bet there was 15 minutes faster in him. He looks as if he just woke up and not ran for 21.1k , he got the aerobic and tempo but he doesnt know how to push himself or what the struggle is. When I go for example after my PB in end I am almost unable to breathe or walk man it takes mental like crazy, he just looks like me when i finish my daily easy 10k run.
