It has been implied a lot that Gary actually liked Jihyo before. Like on one episode where they need to think of each other, and see if Monday Couple are really in love romantically, Gary claimed that his brain's reaction would have been different before. And when Sechan and Somin are bickering, Jihyo said that Sechan shouldn't push Somin away, Jaesuk said that it was from Jihyo's experience before. Although I'd admit that I actually hoped that they would end up together, everything is now in a better place. Gary with his family and Jihyo enjoying her own life. Plus, Jihyo herself even said that they are too different from each other.

Gary had an interview with someone last year? The person asked him if Gary wanted to come back to RM. And he answered.. he did not want to come back because he still feels like he wasn't enough in the show, that what he's doing wasn't enough. He's not saying that they saying he's not enough. It just Gary's thought of himself. He also said that he's happy that the show still ongoing with new people and that they did a better job. I'm not saying that sounds disrespectful but have y'all wonder how Gary feel? I were still mad at Gary when he left the RM + married secretly + cutting ties with everyone but I went to do a research about it. I now understand his in so I no longer am mad. I know people are still complaining about the new cast and activities. I didn't enjoy somin and sechan much at first but somin has added a new element to the team and sechan is a mix of all the members tbh. There's a lot of pressure for them but I do believe they are doing good, even though there could be flaws. People need to understand that they don't have much stamina, they have gotten old. It's not the same anymore. I still enjoy the activities and the mysteries are still shocking, has twists and interesting. People complained about the repetition but if you have been here from the start, punishments and activities were repeated but why blame them? Imagine different punishments and activities for 500+ episodes. They are all working hard :)

Jihyo was already in relationship during her time in Running Man, and Kang Gary was too busy managing his company and his music carrier (which prompt him to leave the show after Super7 scandal, and him focusing 100% on music industry.) Rumors said that he meet his wife also during the filming of RN (in between 2015 and 2016) Their character was made for the show to be more "alive" in RN, which prove to be so successful, spanning thousand of fans club. Yea, i ship them on the series but not in RL. Both of them have life to carry on.

Ive been watching running man 1-100 now because of the pandemic, I don't have any complains about the new style of the show now but I really miss Gary and Monday couple, specially how Gary care about Jihyo, jihyo is not talking much now unlike before she's full of laugh, I also miss the trips, sleepovers and those different antics on ripping name tags, but I guess things can't stay like that forever since everyone is getting old. I believe that Gary will return on Runningman at least as a guest 😔💖 I understand he was going through a lot and he wanted to build up a family of his own and take care of his child unlike Jaesuk, he is always busy with all his shootings,, I wish he would take break for sometime and take his family on a nice vacation :)
