My husband and I adore Runrig, a really fantastic band headed by the amazing voice of Donnie Munro! We went to see the band when Bruce Guthro took over from Donnie, but I detested the flashing lights which you just couldn’t get away from, never again! For us the group stopped being Runrig once Donnie left and we’ll always adore them. You’re a wonderful singer Donnie and it’s so lovely to hear your talking voice in An Abhal An Airde! Very many thanks indeed lads, you’re just amazing.

Discovered Runrig in the late 1970s and have followed them ever since, seen them live many, many times. Fans all around the world, but as we all know, the BBC made their political decision (due to the rise in Scottish support for independence) not to give them much airplay/minimal airplay. If things had been done differently, Runrig could have been so much bigger (and Scots may have still trusted the BBC).

The Voice of Runrig for ever! ❤❤❤

For me Donnie Munroe is still the voice of Runrig. When he sings, songs become powerful. We can hear the strength of his voice as if songs were a part of him. I like Bruce Guthro too, but it's not the same atmosphere even Runrig remains a Great Band. Greetings from France

So many years has passed since the passing of your mother, time makes things hurt less but the pain of your mother not being there is still there and I hope you’ve found peace.

So beautiful. I'm so very glad I've at last discovered Runrig and Donnie Munro. I'm sure the new lead singer is good but Donnie's voice has something magical about it.

This is the first Runrig song I ever heard. It was on a TV advert. I went out and bought "The Cutter and the Clan" album and have been a fan ever since. Like many others it is one of my funeral songs as well.

One of the greatest voices ever in folk/rock. A fabulous band full of great musos and a lead singer with an really gorgeous voice. This song is so elegaic and lovely, I can well believe it has significance in people's lives.

I adore this song. ADORE it. I sit in front of the cd player with the Gaelic lyrics in front of me as I listen. However, I am making but slow progress in identifying all of the sounds. It's a really tricky language! Love it when the choral voices all surge in to join Donnie's. It's as thought they can hardly wait :)

I am English of Scots heritage , I love my country , it's traditions our culture , there is no where else I rather be , but I'd like to see the highlands again , so maybe one day I'll return , this song is all about to me knowing your own limits , and realising the dreams we once had , well that's how I feel.

In the whole of my life I never thought I would ever see the Galic sung in big halls in the south All I need now before I pass is a blue passport with a big white cross on it for when I come home from seeing Scotland win the world cup.
