Great video! What a coincidence, I hiked the Bird Mtn Loop yesterday and wondered if it was part of the Barkley course. When I tackled those god-awful switchbacks, I figured it was!

I just missed you guys. I was there the week before hiking with my buddy. I carried a few extra spring energy gels in case I saw anyone out there training and looking rough, but it ended up just being our old slow fat asses walking around in the cold. I hope you guys have a great race. I'm planning a trip up there a couple weeks after to see if I can find any high speed lost gear. Last trip I got a left mountain hardware glove and replica John Kelly rain vest.

I'm in Georgia and section hike the AT a bit. I love frozen head state park. The campsite is awesome for family camping or hanging out with friends after a day hike. The facilities are amazing (hot showers!). The rangers are great. Most importantly the geology is wonderful. Even my slow ass will cross tons of creeks and waterfalls, see exposed lines of coal, see fossils, and play on huge rock formations. It's a nerds dream. I try to get out there once or twice a year.
