Let's first review what you should expect from carbon fiber plates and why so many are using them for speed and injury prevention. Next a deep dive in to VKTRY Carbon Fiber insoles, comparing gold and silver, along with how and when to use them.

The gold healed my plantar fasciitis for work. I find it hard to run in the gold. Puts pressure on the pads of my feet under my toes. Im going to try the silver for running though

They say if it doesn't fit in your shoe to send it back and they will make the adjustments. They are cut for certain sports.

The silver ones are not supposed to be more comfortable. The only reason they are is because you need to break down the yellow ones.

Hey, Amanda! I am a high schooler and doing both xc and track. I've been struggling with shin splints for 3 years and it's to the point where any physical activity seems to set them off. I am currently doing rehab at track practices and cross-training as well. I heard about carbon fiber and VKTRY insoles about a week ago and got curious. I just watched your video and wanted to ask, what should my approach be? Would you recommend VKTRYs for someone of my case? Thanks!

Man it's really hard to say without knowing the underlying cause. But there are definitely studies showing that the stiffness has helped with reducing lower leg injuries, so if it was me, would absolutely be something I'd try.

Thank you for your time and effort, one small objection if I may, is about that terrible music in the video, or any music at all, we would rather focus only on your voice if you don't mind?! Thanks you 😊

Hmmmm. More rigidity provides more “rebound” more “spring” and more speed! Hmmmm…why not run barefoot on concrete then. I wonder why current cycling professionals are running significantly lower tire pressure on wider tires? And going FASTER, with greater comfort and consequently better recovery. They also provide better control. But surely the physics that circumscribe a cyclist is different than a runner.
@Atomic2001hk

I would imagine barefoot running would be too damaging considering the mileage and the impact on a a runner's feet. maybe alright on softer grounds, but probably not in an urban setting like concrete.
@samsnyder8094
@samsnyder8094 Жыл бұрын
i mountian bike and the only time less tire pressure is useful is during wet trails and wide tires mean more grip road bikers use "less pressure" if their gravel biking so they have more maneuverability but if your road biking then you want more pressure not less.
@keneticchannel
@keneticchannel Жыл бұрын
@@Atomic2001hk Actually, running barefoot or in minimalist shoes on harder surfaces substantially reduces injury because you're forced to adjust your gait and how hard you land. After getting used to running in 5mm flat sandals, if I run in a regular shoe, my knees throb. Why? Because my proprioception is thrown off and I have to land harder to activate the proper receptors responsible for telling my brain where the hell the ground is. Running in less shoe is painful, yes...at first. Then the pain becomes a teacher and you find yourself automatically running lighter and more efficiently, much like our barefoot ancestors ran down their dinner -- not with speed, but persistence and endurance.
@keneticchannel
@keneticchannel Жыл бұрын
Precisely. If you want to run on a more rigid surface, simple run on a more rigid surface by running in less shoe -- not cushion + plate. The plate will likely inhibit proprioception and cause you to land harder than you should be simply because you can't feel the ground without stomping hard into an unstable shoe. These seem like a recipe for ankle, knee, and hip problems.
@dijonmustard2831
@dijonmustard2831 Жыл бұрын
Lower tire pressure will have more grip on a surface, more grip will allow more power from your legs to push the bike forward, actually on road bike or time trial bikes especially the tire are pumped super high for more speed because the surface that are racing on is already very grippy.
