How does it compare to the Rupes D-A Fine?
@luizimercado99943 жыл бұрын
Hi Rupes... what if my car has ceramic and small swirl marks and scratches already building up. What uno shld i use protect or pure?
@RUPES3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting. Some ceramic coatings can be polished lightly, others cannot. It is best to consult the manufacturer of the coating for their recommendation. In the event you can polish it, UNO protect would not be suitable as a solution since it deposits a different type of protection on top and it may interfere with the properties of the coating

Is it safe to use blue yellow and white in the sun?
@RUPES2 жыл бұрын
Any of our compounds would be "safe" to use in direct sun, however you need to adjust technique depending on ambient conditions. Adjustments might include reducing section sizes and cycle times, increasing the amount of compound used, etc.

Hey there guys! Im a newbie into detailing but it was your kits the first one that i grabbed and started yesterday to polish my car and believe it or not, i took like 3h just to do the hood... My car is on the same color has the one on the video and was painted like 3/4 years ago and had lots and lots of scratches...Start with the yellow pad but it did seem to had any effect on scrachts so i moved into the blue one. Got the work done but had burns from the pad due to the time i took on the panel so i used Pure to remove it and result: shine like a diamond... my question is: after coarse polishing compound or fine polishing compound i should always finish with Pure and then apply my ceramic coating? Or after coarse polishing compound or fine polishing compound if there is any problems can i apply my ceramic coating? Sorry for the long testamonial. Best regards.

What brand and model gloss meter are you using?
@someusername1212 жыл бұрын
Is there a max ambient temperature you can use this system in? Like say it's 90 degrees in the garage is that too hot for the foam and polish to work properly?
@RUPES2 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily, but you should be making some technique adjustments to compensate for the ambient conditions and reduce the added frictional heat. Lower tool speed, faster arm speed, shorter cycles, and maybe even using slightly more product to keep the surface lubricated will all help in reducing heat in an already heat-saturated environment.

Can I use Uno pure with white rupes pad as a pre-wax cleaner? 3 times a year ... Or is Uno pure not meant for that ? Not strong enough to remove wax.... I used DA fine with yellow foam and wool on my MX-5. This gave great results. I finished with Uno pure and white foam pad and it boosted the gloss immediately!!! Really impressive results with Uno pure. Afterwards I put a soft99 kiwami wax on the car. Therefore my question about Uno pure as a pre wax cleaner. I will have to repeat waxing every 4 months.
@RUPES2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and posting a question. Can you? Certainly. Wax is not a very durable surface protectant, so even a very fine abrasive like UNO Pure is capable of removing it from the surface. The issue though, is that is not a very efficient or effective way to remove wax. The process will also load the pad up with the wax that is removed and begin to smear it back onto the surface. The more effective way to remove a wax and prepare a surface is to use a dedicated wax and grease remover such as a prep solvent or even diluted ispropyl alcohol.
@zzo28 Жыл бұрын
Wash the car with good dishes washer. It removes old protections well and cheap. Use for example uno pure to cleaning, gloss enhance and very light scratches removing (dont want cut clearcoat 2-4 per year) - Use it like light prewax cleanser. White pad , maybe yellow pad on hard paints. Use prep before wax.

Hello Rupes team, can i apply the uno pure with the lk900e mille as a finish or would you say its better with the mark III?
@RUPES2 жыл бұрын
The UNO family of products is compatible with random orbital, gear-driven orbital, and even rotary. If you are comfortable finishing with the LK900E then it should work find for you. Random orbital tools tend to have an advantage for finishing, but that is not specific to UNO, that is just an advantage of the movement.

To start my detailing career do you recommend starting with the rupes 21mm or the lhr 15mm mark 3? I just picked up a duetto with the 12mm throw.
@RUPES2 жыл бұрын
I’m general the LHR15 tends to be the better option for detailing applications unless you work on a lot of very large vehicles.
@danlc95 Жыл бұрын
I usually use the Duetto for my home shop. I'll pull out the LHR21ES for larger body panels, Mini and Nano as needed. At my part time gig I use a 15mm knock off tool (the full time detailer, I only feel he should use the genuine Rupes tools). But I just found a Duetto on ebay for a steal. It will be my third Duetto, and the one I'll be taking to work. The reason is that I prefer that style chassis, and I'm used to the way it handles. I don't mine the 15mm throw, but the Duetto eats the knockoff 15mm too for dinner - even though I really like those knockoff tools, the Rupes all around out performs them.

@RUPES3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and thanks for your comment. As these are light instructions, specific to the DA Trial Kit we'd don't dive too deeply into the technique variables such as arm speed and downpressure. If you need more comprehensive technique instruction we would recommend you watch the BigFoot 101 series playlist. In chapter 5, specifically right around the 5 minute mark we cover the variable of downpressure as it pertains to random orbital tools. The pressure recommendation on other types of tools, such as gear driven, would be different and would also vary based on the specific vehicle/paint and target defect. In some situations you would apply more pressure, in others less. kzbin.info/aero/PLkX3qMzwBy1EOnBML1roW5F_CDx3eblWy

@RUPES2 жыл бұрын
Holograms are the result of using a rotary tool, but you indicated you're using our D-A coarse and fine? It really is virtually impossible to create a rotary swirl or hologram with a random orbital polisher. From a technical standpoint it is impossible to introduce a rotary hologram via dual action because a hologram is caused specifically by the consistent, patterned, repeating movement of a tool like a rotary. Dual-action RANDOM orbital tools have a truly random movement, so there is no repeating scratch pattern to create a hologram. If you have pictures or some way to share the problem you're experiencing with us I recommend you contact us via the contact us page of our website so we can help you troubleshoot the issue.

no IPA wipe after Pure Uno ? straight to the wax?
@RUPES3 жыл бұрын
We recommend you follow the manufacturers directions for whatever protective product you choose. The key thing to understand is because UNO Pure is not masking/hiding defects, even if you do a panel prep wipe like alcohol or solvent the finish will look the same because there are no fillers to remove.

you guys need a 4k or even 8k camera to get the quality of some of the improvements on video, even if it is just for the b roll
@RUPES3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. The difficulty of showing the incremental difference a product like this makes on camera (especially on a color like Nardo Gray) is why we used the gloss meter to demonstrate the improvement in a tangible way. Even a higher resolution shot is not going to properly represent what is seen in person when discussing the final percentages of finish that are targeted in the ultrafine polishing range. No smoke and mirrors. Real, instrument-verified, improvement is the best way to validate that there was a measurable improvement to the finish.

Did that car have extremely soft paint? I would have never guessed Uno on the Ultra Fine White Pad would be able to remove all paint defects.
