The product quality that goes into their machines, polishing product, training and support is why I bought two polishers and product last year. I am only a a weekend warrior, but I thoroughly enjoyed my time detailing my vehicles. Truly appreciate your videos.

So after blowing out/ cleaning the pad i would need to prime the pad again correct?
@RUPES2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and posting your question. NO. Priming only needs to be done on the first use of a fully cleaned pad. When you are blowing out the pad you are only removing surface residues, the pad still contains a lot of compound, so only a few small drops is all that is needed. You may find this video series helpful if you need additional information on the application process: kzbin.info/aero/PLkX3qMzwBy1EOnBML1roW5F_CDx3eblWy

If I want to do a one step polishing with the yellow wool pad and the D-A Fine product, does it need finishing?
@EURO_SL2 жыл бұрын
Do I need to tape off rubber and plastic with this product? I know you don’t need to with the uno protect but not sure if that’s consistent across the product line.
@RUPES2 жыл бұрын
Unless the product is allowed to dry on the surface excessively it should not cause any issues. More often the actual cause of trim discoloration is due to the abrasion from the pad, not the compound residues. If you have any concerns tape it off. If you happen to make light contact with trim, wipe away residues immediately.

Yes... you would need the 150mm kit. If you visit the links in the descriptions there are downloadable flyers that list what tools each kit is compatible with.

I just tried my DA coarse and DA fine with my 2002 Lexus all I can say is wow! Quick question I plan to do a ceramic coating do apply Uno pure prior and UNO complete after ceramic coating? one pass with coarse and two pass with fine and that 20 year old paint came back to life. Just like new.
@RUPES2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for commenting and glad to hear you're having success with the DA System on your Lexus. Regarding the UNO Products - we've linked a video below to help you understand their intended uses and differences. UNO Pure is an ultrafine polish for finishing on very soft or haze prone finishes. If you got the finish you wanted after DA Fine there is no need to use UNO Pure. UNO Protect is an all in one compound, polish, and sealant. If you are coating a car this product has no place in your process before or after coating. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHjcXnutg6t5iKM

Hey Rupes, I noticed when the wool pad was primed a section of the wool looked flat/clogged, I saw that as I was doing my first c&p today and am wondering if it is bad? I used the brush to get it out and applied two more pea-sized dots before proceeding again.

It is a common misconception that you need to 'fluff' fiber pads to get performance out of them. In reality a fiber has more surface area on its side than it does standing up, so peak performance of the pad is achieved when all the fibers are laying down uniformly in the same direction. There is a difference between the fibers laying down and the fibers being loaded. If the pad appears "shiny" from clear coat residue or is excessively wet with compound it is overloaded. If the fibers are laying down it is actually how it should be.

Hello, how do you guys pour DA products from a tank (gallon) into a bottle without making a mess?😂😂😂😂 a dosing pump seems the only solution but I couldn’t find one with a thick enough tube to let the product out easily. Can you help? Thanks👍
@RUPES3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question. A pump would be the best option. You will need to check with suppliers in your area. There are several options on the market for this purpose. It would be the same type of pump that handles things like skin care creams, or even thicker food condiments.

If I use yellow foam pad, what level of defects can I remove? Let's say starting from sandpaper P2000 or P2500?
@RUPES2 жыл бұрын
Nearly impossible to predict. The hardness of the paint, quality/consistency of the sanding mark, choice of compound, type of tool, and operator skill would all contribute to determining the level of cutting you could achieve with the yellow foam. We generally don't use the yellow foam pad for sanding mark removal. The yellow wool or blue foam are much more effective for this purpose.

How much Cut does the Rupes DA Fine have?
@RUPES2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for posting your question. It is really hard to define a specific measure because the pad has an impact on this, as does the tool being used, and the hardness of the paint. In general we recommend D-A Fine with the D-A Yellow Wool Pad for moderate defects, or with the D-A Yellow Foam for moderate defects / refining paint after a more aggressive compounding stage.
@MrStormy19782 жыл бұрын
@@RUPES Thanks for the reply. I am using the ShineMate EB351 15mm throw and Lake Country HDO (or SDO) Orange polishing Pad. Paint is Medium as far as I can tell. (And Black 🤪) Some companys state "removes sanding marks Pxxx", or put Cut Level 4(6) and Finish 6(6) or similar.
@MrStormy19782 жыл бұрын
@@RUPES Or is it a medium polish or finish polish?✌🏾
@RUPES2 жыл бұрын
We consider it on the finer side (hence the name D-A FINE), but paired with something like our D-A Wool pads it has a surprising amount of cut.

Everything you clean the pad do you have to reprime the pad
@RUPES2 жыл бұрын
That would depend on what you mean by clean. If you mean after you blow it out with compressed air or use a brush during the job, then no - you do not need to reprime the pad. If you mean clean, as in fully wash and dry the pad, then yes - you would need to prime the pad the next time you went to use it.
