Last summer I took possession of a real, 1969 Rupp "Roadster" survivor. I recall that at one time a model manufacturer had produced a miniature version of this classic bike so I wanted one as an example of my real bike. I couldn't find one until just recently. It's great to see MPC re-issue this model but I'm not sure as to "why?". In this day and age of social media addiction, young people are more interested in gluing their eyeballs to their I-phones rather than gluing small plastic parts together and creating something interesting. BTW: your clip was very informative and I'll use your suggestions when I build mine. Thanks!

This early style frame had many different models ranging from 2.5hp to 5hp. This Roadster model was a high end one using 5hp and a 2 speed jackshaft.

oh, that's cool. as for a 2spd was it high and low or 1st and 2nd manual clutch

they are pretty cool there is a second centrifical clutch on the jackshaft that overrides 1st gear when you get up to speed
