29:20 I crafted the entire weapon tree for my favorite weapons: Charge Blade, Switch Axe, and Sword & Shield. I also crafted every piece of HR armor and most of the widely-used decorations (i.e. Weakness Exploit x3, Critical Boost x3, Master's Touch x3, etc.). Thinking about what to do next and my ideas include: crafting every Great Sword tree, crafting every piece of layered armor, and crafting every decoration up to its max skill level. Update 3.0 can't come soon enough, but good thing we don't have to wait too long.

I agree with Gaijin that the Relic Records all tease monsters that aren't in the game yet. Legendary giant fishes, unnatural tremors, remnants of a cursed "dead" wyvern, and crimson glows all gotta mean something.

One of my favorite parts of the podcast is hearing how both gaijin and rurikhan pronounce monster names. For those that like Fashion Hunting, how would you guys feel if Capcom added one or two more armor pigment sections to customize? Would it remove the armor set's identity or even undervalue a player's creativity to make a coherent outfit with what they're given? Personally I would like the freedom to be able to make outfits with red Goss Harag pieces where they would normally be blue or an all black Khezu armor set to have more variety of assassin themed outfits

While I think Rurikhan should be able to make whatever guides he wants, I don't think it's fair to compare bow to the bowguns. In my opinion, bow is much more like a melee weapon, with ideal combos, damage rotations and specific techniques, making it a much more combat-skill oriented weapon as opposed to the bowguns, where the main focus in on the preparation.

38:00, To be fair, Capcom kind of used to gate content, even back in World/Iceborne. DLC quests were always in 4U from the very start, but Capcom slowly "unlocked" them over the course of a few months. Iceborne had new content in updates, but since the extra content is mostly server-side, they made people wait, say a few weeks to hunt Frostfang instead of letting them hunt him right away. 1:06:00 I would love to hunt Crimson Glow Valstrax in Rise. My favourite armour set for hunting the deviants in GU was one that had WEX, Crit Boost, Resentment, Dragonheart, and Attack up L. It basically turns you into an elemental tank, making deviants do significantly less damage in addition to becoming buffed by resentment.

Yessss xenoblade i have 400 hours between 1 and 2 Can easily make Mythra’s/Shulk’s weapons a Long Sword because they have foresight/visions for counters and pyras as a Great Sword.

I'm I the only one that wants transmog or "layered armor" for weapons? I'd also like to be able to filter talismans in the melding menu, harder monsters and different gear made out of apex monsters... And Ceadeus somehow (I would like a unique siege or at least an special rampage). Events so far are very disappointing, no new and fun gear (it's ok if it's only layered armor) and no special monsters like mini Uragaan and giant Deviljho on MH Tri.

If you could upgrade the rampage weapons with apex parts for the final upgrade each changing the aesthetic of the sword to a unique style, with unique rampage skills based on the type of apex parts you choose to upgrade through I think that would be a great way have the apex parts become part of the weapon tree.

The reason you'd wanna run jump master is if you don't want to be flinched going into the air but you really really want to be able to get knocked out of stuff like sleep

You can just use flinch free to get more value. Jump master on,y gives flinch free lv 1 in the air

Still 100% not worth a 3 slot or high rarity talisman status, but if you exclusively fight in the air and rarely have issues with ground-based flinching but often get hit with attacks that lock you in place, technically jump master might be slightly better than flinch free.

for a final boss, i came up with an idea i really liked; a very territorial elder dragon that has the ability to influence others. in this case it sees the hunter village as a threat and trespass on its territory so it creates the rampage to deal with it. all the way up to narwa and ibushi. it would answer a big question i had about why ibushi was trying to break into and destroy the village looking for narwa... when it flies. it can see that narwa isn't in the village. but if something is convincing it to/find/ reasons to destroy the village... then it fits

Did a poison lance build, with that stinger looking lance since it has the highest poison, 3 parts chameleos armor, and skalda layered armor. It looks super sick and venomous, and it works ok.

I really hope they add a hud SIZE option, also poison is really good on lance, since in rise guard dash is a must use move. You use it to reposition, move cancel and it ticks 3 times making poison stacking very efficient

What's this hivemind? I was messing around with poison as well, on IG no less. Now, I always have a DPS problem (14 to 15 minutes on Apex Arzuros is my normal, which does frustrate me because I'm unsure how to get that lower) in MH, but running the Chameleos IG with the Chameleos skill for double poison, I shaved off 2 minutes consistently. Might just be me getting better, but still, it feels like poison might just be ramping up, the longer you usually take for a hunt. A Narwa-Ibushi fight as I would imagine (and loathe) it would be Narwa doing her bullet hell shenanigans and Ibushi would do wind to blow you into said bullet hell lasershow. I'd loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove to see Seltas Queen back! Anti-Air Seltas attacks let's go. Also, that equipment is amazing.

The Rathian tree has lots of great poison weapons, give me those a look if the Chameleos options seem subpar. Insect Glaive and Sword and Shield for sure.

Rathian sns actually has some good raw,220 with a good amount of blue sharpness. And it's a poison weapon, so maybe you can try that weapon out for a poison build.

Rurikhan Elemental builds are actually META for Switch Axe there is not a single Monster that I know of that is speedrun use raw weapons. So Dual Blades are not the only ones

hey Rurikhan, you should try melee bow with the attacking dodge, it actually works, and with just the right bow and right skills (just atk up, critical up,crit boost and weakness exploit with tigrex bow), you actually have a melee weapon that gives no crap about sharpness and deals consistant and heavy deamage, and is fairly easy to use with only 5 attacks !

On the topic of stuff to do while waiting for updates, I haven't really been playing since 2.0 dropped due to not having any builds I really want to try. I would try other weapons but honestly I haven't found any I really want to try. I main CB, but have starting using Swax, hammer and a little bit of gunlance and bow. Maybe I need to try others anyway to see if I do end up liking them, but none of the mechanics interest me.

What I’ve been doing to avoid burnout is I’ve been making builds using the most obscure skills, using combinations that are just fun. My favorite so far has been my Angry hellfire SnS build, hellfire cloak, agitator, magnamalo soul, resuscitate, etc. anything that was affected by a monster being enraged +WEX and resuscitate, it’s just so much fun. I’ve also been making tons of “instant” blast builds, where the blast procs happen almost every other hit, seeing numbers like 55-60 blast on a weapon. Just tons and tons of fun.

Take what they do in rampages where you pick the monster and then it randomly picks an area that monster can spawn in for you to fight it. Maybe this way you can get an extra guaranteed target monster drop or something for going random instead of selecting an area. Keep the missions but let us just fight monsters in a surprise habitat

Seeing rurikhan play gunlance made me want to get into the weapon again in Rise. my god has it been fun. im trying to help a friend get a gold almudron orb and bazel gem to finish his set so that my group of 4 can all use gunlances with blast dash and just be the Boomstick Quartet. Blast dash is so good in this game and combine that with evade extender to allow for a hit and run playstyle using blast dash as the main focus of distance closer

Sakura Slash is good with Blast, since Blast builds in the number of hits you deal, but honestly you're better off with dual blades at that point!

I wouldn't mind Narkarkos Seige. He is an amazing fight and would be interesting. He could have skills to boost wirebug moves and what not since his last sit did it with hunter arts. And his gear was dope looking

Would love the apex mitzu to bring back the gunner armour as the apex variation. I loved the gunner version and it was even in the opening cinematic in GU. It's such a shame it was completely cut from the game.

@@FewNewReasonss i m still remind in the past with Mh freedom fighting agaisnt Yian garuga, where The Hight rank garuga was actually the legendary dead eye Garuga with all its moves and stance, Garuga body was so hard that any attck was bouncing on him unless if you attck him on head. When we got purple sharpeness( the first ppl sharpeness ) that first one had ability to swing anything as if you were hitting a weak spot. Imagine, swing hard kushala daora wing like you were actually swinging his head weak spot. Furthermore that broken ability has been removed and purple sharpeness(ability of litaraly never bounce of anything and making all monster body part like weak part) nerfed. Then back in Monster hunter frontier Z, they bring back that ability on the famous Mythical black sharpeness.

I'd say that for Gore Magala they'd have to make a whole story about him... We also have Rondine being someone from another land that was actualy sent to convince the blacksmith to come to her homeland (presumedly because something's happening there) and if the devs decide to make the G-Rank expansion be on Rondine's homeland they'd have to somehow include Rampages... and we have the Apex Monsters spurred by Ibushi so why don't we make it so in Rondine's homeland there is a Rampage spurred by Gore Magala's virus? That would be a natural way to have Rampages in the G-Rank equivalent without the two serpents because im gonna asume they're going to end up dead after the end of the current story.

I remember when I ran Hammer Courage SSkill and Baggi Hammer in low rank and the Barroth I was fighting was almost always poisoned. Like I know it was low rank but it was insanely effective. I haven’t done it since but now that you mention it I’m looking at that weird Cahmeleos hammer.

Just farmed all the layered arnors for the character. Currently doing deco farming. Finished all the decos that use aquaglow jewel. Will do buddy layered after.

They can add a Possessed monster. Like Ibushi and Narwa possessing monsters. Buffed and have powers from narwa or ibushi together with their regular movesets.

I think Kaname might want to save Gore for the next game, because his team designed him and I think would really want to do him the honors, and same with Lagi cause I have a feeling he may want to try underwater out again for mh6. The flooded forest is back though and it feels a little off without lagi, gobul, duramboros, etc so I’m not sure

Exactly what I was thinking as I had a feeling that they want to try Underwater combat again in MH6 as well. I hear a lot of people say they want Lagi in Rise but I felt like his land fight in GU was a disservice to him as he really shines with Underwater combat. Sure they could redesign his land fight but if they do that then his fight will likely feel a bit like Almudron's - who doesn't appeal to me. I'd rather wait for Lagi to return with Underwater combat.

Base mhw had AT Nerg, Luna and stuff like that in HR that provided good challenge. We need stuff like that. Hell id even be fine with Hyper monsters since Apex are like Deviants. We need regular super monsters.

the main thing im curious about in rampage that i haven't figured out or found an answer to is... how do the mounting conditions change? mounting is terribly useful in rampage and i know how to trigger it normally, but in rampage i can't get it except by luck.

If you do enough damage, or you use a silkbind move to do damage they go on a mounting state

I actually use jump master lol. On my aerial insect glaive stamina build. unlimited stamina means im always jumping and it actually works

"No decorations missing..." [Cries in Mighty Bow] I'm expecting Jho, Kirin, Apex Zindoggo and final boss as a minimum in 3.0. But I do hope we get a good bit more. I'm expecting at least one more update next month, then July will be focused exclusively on Stories 2, with potentially an update in late August, that is beefy.
