I have played with Ruri and Wata for over 2 hours. We had such a blast. Time flew by. Chat was having fun and so did we. This game is one of the best stories coming out of a very bleak situation. This Studio should be studied by so many triple A publishers. There is a lot to learn and I hope they can keep doing an awsome job and this game gets more content. What does it take for game media to pick up on those underdog stories and bring them into the light? All my respect to the Team and fans who support this hidden gem. It is not a game of the year contender. But!!!! Art style? Design? community support? sure it was up there. sorry for my rant. And to add the music was fucking phenomenal!!! Like truly Elden Ringesque in my opinion. This game is one of the most fun night games for me because I needed something that had that slow burn and this did it. I'd look at my phone and be like fuuukkk 3 hours went by 😂 absolutely blast still playing it and doing everything to milk this game. I agree what you said this dev team needs praise. A buddy and I started playing yesterday and are really enjoying it, especially the exploration aspects and finding little hidden goodies across the world. Lots of lore drops, loot, and housing cosmetics . He plays for his stats to go up, I play for my real estate value to go up.

Relic Hunters Legend was another live service game which got transformed into a local game, though in RHL's case you can still talk to and meet other players just like you would before the switch, it's just now you can do that with local save files and removed microtransactions. Similar situation, too! Publisher pulled out, just gave the game to the developers. Happened about the same time, too.

Darksiders 1 will always be one of my favorite games growing up. Had the comic book with it that I wish would have continued. With each game and all four riders getting their own unique game. Was a wildly different take on the apocalypse.

I had never heard of it until skillups video 2 weeks ago and I bought it for myself and my 2 adult sons and we are 35 to 40 hours in and we all love it. It truly is a hidden gem. The combat and fighting is just so much fun. Have not even made it to the 3rd and final zone but can’t wait to sink hundreds of hours into this one. 25.00US is a steal for this game.

I absolutely love this game and I am glad to see you covering it. I get the unfinished comment, and I really want airship syndicate to make enough to keep investing in it's development. I play this with my wife (who has never played these types of games before) and my brother, I used to be a big warframe player until the Tencent partnership, And this game really scratched the itch I miss about it without all the extra BS. This may not have been the game they intended with the DE partnership, but this is a game I have been wanting for a long time that really didn't exist, they did, but there was always some sort of strings attached to it that just made me walk away or never touch it at all. Certainly more content is needed, a better endgame rotation on new weapons that are not buyable except the legendary versions. It gives me kind of the Borderlands 2 vibes, if they can press on with that type of model I think they would have a game no one else can touch, not because of anything revolutionary, but the will to do it the right way that is not this micro transaction non stop attempt to leach money our of you game that doesn't exist any more. I personally have no real interest in the Critical Role supporter pack, but I am very inclined to buy it just to support these guys because I want to see more of this and I would love to see new content in the form of DLC\Expansions.

I just got a few days ago and totally addicted to the game, everything about it is made for me. Kudos to the dev for changing the monetization model to a more traditional game, which is immensely better. Thank you for having the balls to admit you fucked up and changed it for the better. I hope more people will support the game now and that it will get more support from the dev in the future.

Ya im really happy that they persevered and stuck it out with the game, kudos to the devs, combat is where it really shines and just feels good and smooth like you said. I just hope that they can now rebound and still come out with expansions and future content down the line, cuz i would love more weapons wit new combo strings (some H2H yes plz lol) more characters, and maybe be able to equip simultaneously melee weapon and a ranged,feel like that would make combat have even more variety. Id even be open to optional cosmetic skins be buyable again, just so it would help fund the dlcs and future content.

The irony of this situation is that it's the exact situation DE found themselves when they were dropped from their publisher and made Warframe. 😅 I don't know what the future holds for this crew but they survived to continue on and that's good news.

i liked the previous airship games. it was disappointing to see a multiplayer live sevice game from them. i didn't know that the game changed drastically. this sounds like the steam version of hellgate london to me. i'm immediately interested in wayfinders now.

Even though the game is fun it still has a long way to go. Bosses start strong but the further you play the more boring they get. Coop and performance atleast on PS5 need major updates because both is really bad because of freezes in coop which lead to connection loss which leads to losing progress. Performance because of stutters and overall underwhelming graphics even for a ps5. The game deserves attention and I hope it gets what it needs to grow over time. I hope I can revisit Wayfinder someday in its full glory.

Just a little tip here.. If they cud increase Wayfinder rank ( not level ) Actual rank .. You can max out that rank in less then 1 week.. all it takes 1max character and few others just few levels and after you have 1 5star character 1 5star weapon... and you get max rank automatically,it is getting hard to find a purpose to farm any further .. But I will tell you wan thing after all .. I had so much good time in Wayfinders.. over 500h now and still playing it.. absolutely love it and can't wait till more updates;) No Joke .. One of the best games I'm playing in all times !!! 👊💪 P.S and I'm playin a lot

Game is awesome! played 110hrs since 1.0 launch (never played it before and was not interested in it as a live service with fixed characters, my pet hate). Wayfinder is now one of my personal favorite games and more than worth the 25 euro and the extra I spent after playing it for 10hrs for the bonus cosmetic pack (because game was so good I thought the devs deserved some extra support). I hope that the devs decide Wayfinder is worth supporting further and release some paid for full DLCs with extra zones, story characters etc I will certainly buy them immediately. FINGERS CROSSED ☝

Oh that's what bugged me about this game I was keeping asking myself if it's a live service game or not. Now I understand. Well I wished I heard about that game earlier as I was a big fan of Battle Chasers: Nightwar's artistic direction and this game feels like it's happening in the same universe kinda, just by the designs, so I'm really hyped trying it when I'll be able to buy it. Wayfinder became a real videogame. There are some live services that could follow the same path. If Genshin and Destiny dropped free to play, were remade with some restructuring. They would be amazing and a lot more fun to play. But also, companies are pumping too much money into studios with singular projects. Which leads to games with a lot of visual clutter, and studios being deleted with management breathing down their necks.

I absolutely love this game! I'm 60 hours in and don't plan to stop anytime soon. BUT, it desperately needs optimization on PS5. And the maps, please, do something about the horrendous maps😅 no path, no buildings, no text, walls, mountains or any indication whatsoever about the different events, and stuff, especially in Frostmarch, OMG. The minimap rotation is all over the place. It's also pretty difficult to navigate, it doesn't do a good job at differentiating between up and down, just a whole lot of trial and error, which for me personally gets between me and the gameplay, which is frustrating.

Just a personal opinion so if this game as it is to shiny to me cause I dont fancy that. It looks fluent and playable which is actually more important but just imagine if they made a game this nice and fuse Legacy: Steel and Sorcery looks with this playability and depth. Man it would hit the market. Cole Eastburn is killing it with illustrations and art style

I love Joe madureira art style. That IS why i played darksiders. Just because i was a Fan of his art. Same thing with battlechasers. But in the end, those games were Fun. Wayfinder its pretty boring. I entered 13 dungeons and i swear to god, i fought only 3 different Bosses. Maybe 4. At that point i uninstalled the game. Which IS Sad because like you Said, the art its beautiful, the world IS Amazing, but game Just have no content

I hope they at least deliver anither expansion to it in 2025, and I really think there could be a Wayfinder 2... Maybe not from Airship, but they could license the IP to another studio to make it happen. There's still a lot of meat in these good bones they created. That said, even if it doesn't happen, I hope at least people will take it as an example of "what to do" when a life-service fails (imagine if this was done to Anthem) and players could just say: "Do a 'Wayfinder' on that thing!"

what would be great, is if it becomes successful enough post 1.0 that they do expansion packs... culminating in the revival of the mmo-lite aspects. its a total pipe dream, but man... I LOVED the live service version when I played it. The game has serious potential there, that is now squandered. I got bummed on the swap to single player and huffed some copium about "well, at least now I can take it at my own pace instead of falling victim to the fomo grind that mmo's typically have", and took a break due to the progression reset. I'm finally dipping my toes back into it and still enjoy how the core loop feels - it scratches that dungeon crawl itch very well - but I'm really missing just seeing people hanging out. All the gear, all the mounts, etc... no one to show off to. Its got a solid enough foundation, its a shame it was brought low because of publisher shenanigans.

Wayfinders is a really solid game. I bought in at launch and well... It was a dumpster fire. Then they ran the no man's sky comeback arc in about a year and today it's a whole lot of fun and fairly priced for what you get. It's also not offensively "woke" which is a big plus. There's tons of stuff to do but I'm a bit sad that there most likely won't be any long term support. Here's hoping the studio can find a way to finance a sequel or something

As someone who purchased the $150 Wayfinder's founder's pack, I wished them luck, but I will never ever support them ever again. Playstation did the right thing with Concord. Shut the game without compromising it's original vision. And finally... give the players who purchased the game REFUNDS. Airship Syndicate should've fought tooth and nail to get those refunds no matter how long it takes, especially the $150 packs. The current Wayfinder feels so empty and lifeless... and like you said, unfinished. What a joke.

There was 0 things they could do about it. Digital Extremes took it and that was that. Calm your tits, many of us Founders didn't get this upset because Airship Syndicate was dealt a bad hand.

Also, I will never tell anyone who were upset by investing $150 in a failed early access game to "calm their tits down". Unless you spent your parents money. At the very least, they could've work with Digital Extreme to help the players get refunds. Instead its: "oh well, talk to Digital Extreme".

I was pretty hyped for this cause Airship Syndicate made Battle Chasers which I was a huge fan of, then the follow up Ruined King for league which was good but not as good imo. But them making the one class I want to play, the greatsword, be some huge butch lesbo, that's going to be a pass from me. Like I'm all for making predetermined characters, but you need to make them either attractive or cool to appeal to the broadest of players. Honestly all the other character designs arent that great either, which is super disappointing when compared to Battle Chasers which the design is phenomenal. This may seem petty or shallow, but in todays current climate, I'm absolutely sick of this stuff and there are way too many other great games that I honestly do not care. I even gave this exact feedback when I played the beta, when it was still a multiplayer rogue like type of game. Edit: Ok just saw that you can now play as any character with any weapon so that is great, so I may check this out now, just wish the characters were better overall. They're isnt one that stands out like wow they're super cool I want to play that.
