This is a dangerous way of thinking. I've tried to start businesses but failed and have climbed the corporate ladder. I have more freedom/time in my current role than I ever did as a small business owner. The key is don't lifestyle creep as you're climbing the ladder. I still live like I'm on my original salary even though I make 5 times that amount. My peers live the "fancy" lives seen on social media but they're also spending far more and complaining to me about payments that have to be made on houses and cars.

I'm retired military and have had a pension for over 20 years now. We do charity work whenever we can and have traveled all over the world. I don't need a Ferrari. I am no financial guru, but saving money doesn't necessarily mean depraving yourself from having a quality life. Living frugally just means not wasting money unecessarily on stuff where you can get cheaper (and just as good) alternatives, like prepairing yourself a nice meal at home instead of a resturant, and throwing a party at home instead of going to the club, (ofc. I loved MJ demarco's book "unscripted"! Definitely recommend that as well. Its a long book but kept me very interested, it doesnt drag just so many truth bombs and so motivating. Has helped me focus. I will also read this one here too though, thank you!

Not everyone can be an entrepreneur. The book assumes you are a genius who can create and operate their own business, as well as be intelligent enough to get your taxes done correctly.

Another self help guru who earns his money selling these books. Best for young people to get a good college education (public university) and learn to think intelligently and become flexible in attitude, then work in a field they enjoy, save and invest safely, and don't spend over their means. Much less stressful than owning a business. Been there, done that. I enjoy my military pension. A million dollars won't make me any happier. I've served, and am still serving, and my wife and I love doing that.

Everyone can be an entrepreneur, but not everyone can be successful as an entrepreneur. Majority would lose their money.

With this mindset of course you will never be one.

@@AntonioII You are wrong. I am one. But the couple of million I have in investments and savings will go to family and charities. I grew that money over time not needing it or caring about it. As I said, I don't need a million dollars to be happy. Money has never been my driver. I drive my own life.

$$$ doesn't buy happiness... it just helps with alleviating, stress. If implemented strategically, of course.

Many millionaires are miserable because it doesn't has to do with money it has to do with freedom
@zlackware9 ай бұрын
It's completely true. If you want to become wealthy, you have to invest your money in something that generates more money. It could be buying a house to rent out, stocks, starting a company, cryptocurrency. It doesn't matter what you invest in, as long as it brings in more money for you. You can also leverage the tax system to pay less tax (this varies a bit depending on the country you live in). I wish I had this knowledge 10 years ago

Money doesn't buy happines, the lack of money does give a lot of stress and worry and crumble your happines. I know because I've been there after a accident. The moment I had just enough money to cover the basics again my live inmediatly where beter (Basics: rent, food, running water, electricity and gas for the stove and internet to do the things the goverment requert). Now I make more then double the basics cost and it didnt make me happyer. What does make me happier are the wildcamping weeks with only a sleeping bag and sleepingpad, and less than a kg of rice for a hole week. but why would I be unhappy and poor if I could be unhappy and rich?

I plan on getting rich very soon. It’s basically a cannon event. I can feel it in my bones, it’s an unexplainable feeling I randomly started getting. It could be soon, it could be later, but it’s supposed to happen.

I don't feel like people who retire with 1.5 mil to live the same normal life is considered rich. This is definitely not a bad place to be, but rich to me is someone who can buy anything they want when they want. They don't have to worry about not having money to live because they have so much of it.

Thank you for the book recommendation ❤ I recently purchased it and I can tell it gives you an insight of the real practical world and how it sucks. I even resonate with some things written in the book as I personally got many of the lessons, the hard way :)

@The.Harsh.Truths8 ай бұрын
Yup. And start a KZbin channel instead so you too can make $500k+ a year like her. Oh wait. “KZbinr” is the most desired job by all young people in recent polls, and the odds of getting to a point where you can even monetize your channel are less than 1%.
@AfterPartyTracks8 ай бұрын
Just starting a channel won't pay the bills, its ok to take a year or two of work income if you are old enough to work. Are you really saying you invest none of your income? Nothing in crypto in 2024? Thx for that advice but ill buy back my productive energy and store it in an appreciating asset on a blockchain rather than spending 100% of income all the time as how you seem to suggest it. Props to you if its true, not everyone gonna be blessed with same abilities and might need at least a part-time job and investments in their portfolio versus a $8 coffee cup that u make for 70c or less when you really get down to it.
