I’ve always loved this piece. Dean like you, I learned this back in the day (we’ll sort of) but had long since forgotten it. Your lesson was a big help in re-learning it. I had also forgotten how challenging this piece is to play on steel string acoustic with all those bar chords. Try playing the B-flat chord at 6:16 as a B-flat7 chord instead - easier to fret it and I think it sounds like the “right” chord there anyway. As always, great lesson and a huge help!

I got it; half the song. I can do the beginning until he bars what appears to be an A chord (5th fret) on the neck. I play with a pick (heavy). Can't wait to learn the rest.

Hi Dean, I relied on your tutorial heavily to learn this piece. Thanks. Only question I would ask is why don’t you play a conventional Gm? You leave out the D note

Also walking down from the Dm to the Cm7add13 to the B it’s a B7 not a B major. God I can’t understand all these YT vids with incorrect voicings.

Second half of this song is much harder IMO .
@gmoney97949 ай бұрын
I haven’t watched the whole video yet but you haven’t mention time sig or meter which is 3/4. 1+2+3+ etc. It’s very staccato timing. Big fault here. Counting time is huge here since most of the world thinks in 4/4. And oh god is your thumb really tense. Sorry, classical guitar major here. But maybe it helped out some folks out.

At 5:46, your chord progression is Cm7 - Gm. I've been playing that wrongly as this for years: E-------------------------------------- A-------------------------------------- D---------------4---------------2---- G-------------5---------------3------ B-------------5---------------3------ E-------------5---------------3------ Thanks for the correction.
