I got it through KS. now with the quarantine, I play it a lot with my 4 year old daughter (without a timer), have good quality time together and she really enjoys it! can't wait to play it with with the time limit though

That might be the very thing that pushes me over the edge with this KS, hah. I could definitely see my 3 year old enjoying helping out with this game in the not too distant future. Especially the dexterity elements. Thanks for the comment

Seems really interesting with the picking things in real time, sometimes with tongs, with novel dexterity vs time mechanics such as turning tokens and looking at x-ray cards. I wonder if something competitive with varied dexterity like this exists, cause I'm not so keen on cooperative games.

I'm squeamish at hospitals, too. Doesn't help that I work at one. ;-) I have Kitchen Rush and like it, and will likely pick this one up, too.

Hi Tom, thanks for this great review! This genre is quite unknown to me. What are the best realtime cooperative games in your opinion?

I'll answer for Tom, I know Project Elite is one of his top games. It's much grittier though, mowing down a bunch of aliens ala Starship Troopers with weapons. There's also Escape!, and Magic Maze for more family friendly options. Kitchen Rush was mentioned by the same designers. There's Zombie 15, probably more that I can't think of.

Space alert is fun but super hectic and takes awhile to learn. Escape the curse of the temple is fantastic too for a fun starter or filler game

5minute dungeon and 5minute marvel are also fun with kids (simple for adults)... Fuse is also worth seeing if you may like it.

Tom’s comments were so very positive I was surprised when he said it was approved. I was sure this would get the seal of excellence. What held it back Tom?

Eric Hammett I thought the same thing. Praised everything from components to ease of learn and play and wanting to play it again. But seal of approval is still pretty good. But I agree the review sounded pretty enthusiastic, so no seal of excellence was a small let down.

You know, and "8" out of 10 is pretty good. VERY few games get excellence.

@@thedicetower ..and that's fine. But in comparison, I then believe that too many games get approval. Take the recent Dungeon Drop review for example. That game got a Seal of Approval, for whatever reason. I guess my point is, that RUSH M.D. and Dungeon Drop getting the same "level of acknowledgement" seems like a mistake (for a lack of a better word).

Thomas Frandsen I agree. Something like Gold seal, Silver seal and Bronze seal would be a nice touch maybe

@@Althemancayer Yea, that might've been cool. But the Dice Tower Seals are well-established 'brands', so I doubt that will change. That said, I wouldn't mind seing just a few more Seals of Excellence handed out and/or fewer Seals of Approval to tighten the spread.

To clarify, my daughter gave Kitchen Rush the Seal of Excellence. It also was a lower number to achieve back then. It's confusing, but in the past four years we have attempted to be as consistent as possible.

I heard this game is easy even in "hard" level, not much replayability compared to Kitchen Rush? I own Kitchen Rush.

In Hard level and at 3 or 4 it's definitely not easy! It's not like some co-op games where success rate is at 50% in normal and drops to like 10% in hard mode... But still, if you have to score 20+ points per round of 4 minutes, plus the constraint of additional bonus cards etc... Depending and the patients it can be really challenging, tests take time, unexpected random infections in the room mean additional last minute treatment for all beds, room for error is really low with reputation in hard mode as well... It's not a co-op game you play repetitively anyway, it's a dexterity family co-op game. But it can be enough of a challenge!
