Rush is the shit. No egos, no overdoses, no breakups. No behind the music episode where the band goes to shit cause some member crashed a motorcycle drunk or was in rehab for drugs. Why was there not a behind the music episode for Rush. Because Rush was about the music not the bullshit that comes with money and fame. They even gave Neil some space while he was dealing with tragedy in his life. Think about it, what other great rock band can say that. None of them.

The best part is the "I love you man" scenes! Rush's live scene during "Limelight" is unbelievable.

On Freaks and Geeks they played "Spirit of Radio" on Fanboys they played "Limelight". So it's not always Tom Sawyer.

Elgene Tiamzon true. But those are also some of their most popular. I would love if I just started to hear “The Necromancer” on some random show haha. At least rush gets referenced tho

The 1973 musical film 'Tom Sawyer' is widely considered to be the inspiration for the Rush song 'I Think I'm Going Bald.'

To me what makes Neil great beyond just the music is that he never looks at all bothered by drumming or that he's exerting any effort. Seemingly unbothered by this task of being the greatest as if he were god's magnificent drumming robot.

Neil put in the massive sweat before the shows to make it *look* that easy. The talent comes from having the passion to practice past the pain to the point of Excellence.
@davidtaylor49753 жыл бұрын
I remember him saying that, when he was reviewing the footage of one of the concert films, he couldn't belief how calm he looked because he knew all the things he was thinking to keep the drumming at that level. So he made it look easy but he admitted it wasn't easy!

That's not true at all. Neil always had a very serious expression on his face when he was playing. In fact, one time his mother mentioned that Geddy and Alex always seemed to be having so much fun but Neil always looked so serious. Neil replied "but it's hard Mom". He may look calm, but he was always serious.

This an obscure one, but in King of The Hill, Bobby plays Dungeons and Dragons with some nerds from school with "The Trees" playing in the background. Also, Regular Show is littered with RUSH references. Especially the episode where Benson plays a drum solo, ala Neil, on a massive kit. Totally epic...✌
