A rare 'Instrumental gem' from a comparatively obscure & underrated album ~ 'Snakes & Arrows ' did sort of go 'under the radar' even with Rush Aficionados at the time !
@Frankincensedjb12312 жыл бұрын
Interesting that at the suggestion of David Gilmore, Lifeson and Lee wrote these songs first on acoustics, then modified later. Lifeson said it certainly helped with the structuring and melodies of the songs.
@greg-warsaw4708 Жыл бұрын
Gilmour, not Gilmore. By the way, Wikipedia, obviously not a Britannica in terms of reliability, makes a horrendous error (in the entry on Snakes and Arrows), stating it was the other way round (= that Lifeson inspired Gilmour to do songwriting on an acoustic guitar).

I hope they follow through with Geddy's idea of an all-instrumental album. I've hoped for one for many years... this is where they shine. Awesome...56 years old and my first show was cancelled at Cape Cod Coliseum in March of April 1980 because of an injury to Geddy. Rumors were it was a frisbee accident. The parking lot was not happy and the Cape Cod police donned their riot masks as there were still people trying to get there. I was 15 and took off from home and did not get back until 3 days later. I got to see them at the make up concert in September and had permission to go this time. I have seen them 6 times since 2001. Never, ever a better live show.

The most "over used" term on KZbin is "under rated" sometimes it is true but the comment below stating RUSH is under rated is anything but true!! From the beginning they attracted a lot of attention and established a very loyal fan base that grew and grew as the years went on, they also earned the respect of the piers from the start that also continued to grow as did their popularity. I personally don't see, feel or believe RUSH is in any way "under rated" or ever has been. Anyone that knows and can appreciate good music/ musicians knew from the start these guys were/are undeniably masters of their craft !!!
