ROP The Professor a true legend never too be forgotten.Welcome to the Rush community man you are hooked for life now. These guys raised the bar so high noone could reach or teach it.Sheer perfection in every song and they take you on a journey every time. Highly recommend Spirit if Radio for your next dip into their music.eThats just for starters. Then maybe YYZ to showcase Neil's ridiculous talent. The main course should consist of 4 wonderful tracks Working Man then La Villa Strangiato and Xanadu both incredible performances from the Exit Stage Left album look for the videos and just to finish you off completely the storybook video for 2112

Rush keep blowing my mind. The sad loss of Neil Peart (the worlds greatest drummer) in 2020 to brain cancer... Sadly Geddy Lee (Vocals) and Alex Lifeson (blonde on guitar) retired the band. Peart was the lyricist and composer, he joined the band just before their first tour in 71... as a comment below says “if you go down the rabbit hole you’ll come out changed”... I’m Sure Neil and the boys would love that analogy- Peart was an avid reader and player of Roll Playing Games- I would be curious to see your reaction to anything from 2112. Much love keep rocking and your channel seems great 🤘🏿

Geddy Lee, vocals, bass, and keyboards. This was a recording session so he played one at a time and they dubbed it together on the album. But during live shows he uses peddles at times to help him handle all 3 at times. Amazing musician. The drummer is Neil Peart and is also the lyricist. He is widely known as one of the best if not the best rock drummer ever. This was in 1980 so you can imagine how much he progressed decades later.

Rush!! One of Canada's gifts to the world!! Unfortunately Neil Peart the drummer passed away from cancer. He was know as the professor because of his ever evolving drumming skills. He also wrote most of the lyrics for all of their songs. Any of songs already suggested are excellent. How a three member band can sound like a six member band is because of their immense musical talent.

The Rush music story is long and varied. It’s a deep deep catalog of some of the most incredible rock music ever recorded. And it’s just a trio. While starting in 1968 with a different drummer, three years later he was replaced by drum God Neil Peart. The line up remained the same right to the end in 2015 when, as popular as ever, they called it quits. Each a master practitioner and each a multi instrumentalist. So you got incredible music, a unique and instantly identifiable voice, sick beats and lyrics that are next level. Enjoy the ride,

KEY TO LOCK - Follow the drummer closely, he also writes their lyrics. "Tom Sawyer" 'starts' on the bass drum on (1) with 2 short instrumental bars, then with 'vocals' for 2 short bars - then begins a 16 bar bridge which re-occurs throughout the song. During this 'bridge' the drummer plays; 1 bass drum beat in the 1st bar, 2 bass drum beats in the second bar, 3 bass drum beats in the 3rd bar and 4 bass drum beats in the 4th bar. This easily overlooked but precise mathematical application is observed throughout Neil Peart's (R.I.P.) career.

The only reason it looks like there's more in this video is because this is a filming of their actual recording sessions and the vocals, keyboards and solo guitar tracks are layered on the multitrack separately for clarity, but live these guys are doing it all at once.

Rush was a rock band that came out of Canada in the 70s. They did hot have many top ten hits but produced many well received albums with sounds often touching on social and political commentary. I was always anazed by the big sound that came from just those three guys. The singer/ guitarist is named Geddy Lee. The other guitarist is Alex Lifeson. Between them Lee and Lifeson also played many other types of instruments. The drummer is Neil Peart and is regarded as one of the finest drummers of the modern era. Unfortunately he died early January last year. Thank you for doing this reaction video about one of my favorite bands. If you can find them check out these other Rush songs : "The Trees", "Enola gay", "Red Barchetta", "Closer to the Heart", as we;; as "Freewill" and "Spirit of radio" as recommended by another viewer.

I'm a huge Rush fan! I'm so you were diggin it! I would love to see you do more of Rush! I'm not sure how you organize your videos or if you do entire album reactions. If you do, Rush and Led Zeppelin would be a great place to start doing full album reactions. I was lucky enough to see Rush twice in concert. The second was the ultimate best for me due to some amazing circumstances in which I ended up in the 3rd row, center toward the right which is where Geddy Lee stands. I was on a small amount of mushrooms which just enhanced my experience and I must have had a huge smile on my face because I swear, Geddy Lee looked right at me and smiled right back! Neil Peart had a drum set that spun around as he played and there were instruments in his drum set that filled the entire space which was a square. It was an outdoor venue just outside of downtown St. Louis, Mo. One of the top 5 shows I've ever seen from anyone, and I've had some incredible experiences in my younger days! Peace!

A lot of awesome music coming from just 3 guys. I saw them back in 1978 in Indianapolis, IN. The drummer had so much stuff he used, you couldn't hardly see him.

Best trio of musicians to assemble, they almost have their own genre. I prefer everything between "Working Man" & "The Garden".

In the top 5 concerts I've ever seen. Saw them back in the 70s. What a show! Even had a round stage. Lol And also, they are timeless.

Check out 'Freewill' and 'The Spirit of Radio', and definitely check 'Xanadu' the live version from 1981 if you are ready to have your mind completely blown to shreds.

Rush was huge when I was in my early 20's and beyond...this song, Tom Sawyer, is legendary! And as I have stated that I love drum solos, their drummer, Neil Peart, is considered the greatest rock and roll drummer. Sadly he passed away in January 2020.

A title technical, but the keyboard solo uses a time signature of 7/8 instead of the traditional 4/4 (like almost every song does). That’s why you can’t bob your head to it the same way. :)

True story-one of my best friends was/is OBSESSED with Rush.Went to a Rush concert in '88.There were roving spotlights turning, then it stopped on us. Geddy Lee made a joke about how they have no female groupies, and most shows no female fans in audience. It was surreal and coolest thing ever
