Only Rush can make Morse code sound good. YYZ is the IATA airport identification code of Toronto Pearson International Airport, near Rush's hometown. The band was introduced to the rhythm as Alex Lifeson flew them into the airport. A VHF omnidirectional range system at the airport broadcasts the YYZ identifier code in Morse code. Peart said in interviews later that the rhythm stuck with them. Peart and Geddy Lee have both said "It's always a happy day when YYZ appears on our luggage tags."

Rush's sound is unique and was constantly evolving from their first album in 1974 to their last in 2012. This video is from 2005, but the Tom Sawyer video was from 1981. Both songs are from the same 1981 album Moving Pictures. It's time to see them live, and hear a true rock masterpiece: Xanadu - Exit Stage Left

Was lucky enough to to stumble on Rush 40 plus years ago, one thing that resonates with me is that they forged their own path. It left them out of mainstream radio play and not recognized by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame until recently. What this trio proves is that if your committed to your craft you can excel. I would warn you this is a deep rabbit hole, there is a 40 year discography chronicling the best music will hear, strap in my friend.

Near the very beginning when you hear a synth bed under the riffs, Geddy is playing that with his feet on organ ( Taurus ) pedals hooked into a keyboard brain. It's insane. And props to Rio crowd. Great reaction video, Biz! This song should have won Best Instrumental Grammy in 1982, (it was nominated) but instead lost out to the putrid "Behind My Camel" from the Police. I like the Police, but that song was horrid, drummer Stewart Copeland hated it and Sting didn't even play bass on the track. This was Rush's closest brush with winning a Grammy. Another example of the American "Rock" establishment journalist's hatred of Rush for several decades. Only now, after they have retired, do they get the mainstream acclaim they always deserved.

You can't go wrong with the time machine tour, my favourite show especially with the funny intro videos to the tunes. Have a look at the funny intro videos and the songs that follow especially THE REAL HISTORY OF RUSH/TOM SAWYER. the guys in funny costumes and make up. Keep an eye on the 3 pretty girls with trays of beer, the joke refers to an earlier album, moving pictures. Followed by the best and funniest version of Tom Sawyer, the crowd having fun watching the guys playing each others instruments on a big screen behind them. Also you have to do the intro video followed by the spirit of radio. The video takes place in " GERSHON'S HAUS OF SAUSAGE nobody beats our sausage " same again great costumes and make up. They are trying to find the best version of the spirit of radio with the help of Alex lifesons time machine, but things don't quite go to plan, followed by a great live performance of the spirit of radio. Another great instrumental from the same show, LEAVE THAT THING ALONE, time machine tour live in Cleveland, with some great bass playing by geddy Lee. LA VILLA STRANGIATO live in Cleveland the time machine tour great live performance much more entertaining than earlier versions that were staged for the cameras. Then WORKING MAN the same show time machine tour live in Cleveland with its reggae start. Also more great bass playing and a shorter Neil peart drum solo in the middle section of WHERES MY THING, HERE IT IS live in Dallas, best wishes from the UK.

Did not say anything during the song, but that is fine, your nonverbal reactions says it all. Thanks, more Rush please!
