I went to see Geddy Lee's "My Effin' Life" spoken-word discussion at the Orpheum Theater in Boston last week. Geddy mentioned that he and Alex are making new music together and will likely go out on the road again next year, but not as Rush. He did mention that Alex is currently dealing with a health issue, but he did not elaborate on it. Hopefully Alex gets well soon so they can get into the recording studio.

We look at the greats of classical music hundreds of years later. Always they are the best composers and musicians. Beethoven. Bach. Mozart. Rush is the band that will be at the top of the list centuries from now. Especially in 2112. God if I could just hold on to life for another 84 years to hear the covers and celebration of that masterpiece, there’s no doubt that track will be as famous, if not more, 90 years from now

I saw them 4 times prior to 1985 and they were incredible. By the 90's, they were in decline especially Geddy's vocals. I'm glad I didn't see them again. I like to think of a band going out at the top of their game. This song is nowhere near their zenith.

@@edcollins9377 I disagree. I saw them in every decade since the 70s. 2112 was an incredible album. The early stuff was rough, but 2112 was in their prime.

@@MBGolfer The early stuff kicked ass! I'm surprised you liked 2112 if you didn't like By Tor, Fly By Night, Anthem, Working Man, Finding My Way, etc. In the late 80's Geddy's voice started changing and no longer sounded good.

love it, as any rush fan knows, it was dj donna halper in cleveland who played "working man" in rotation in cleveland, after "rush" came out, and the rest is history. i know this sounds cliché but i heard working man on the night shift in kansas city around the same time and immediately set out to find the record and was hooked, been a fan ever since.

I've noticed too, but he kept his snare in off-beat/counter-timing during 1-2 measures as if it were an integral part of this "on-stage" musical piece. A clever recovery making his performance flawless in the end, which shows how Neil was a Master of his Art.

Every time I listen to Working Man I think, Alex "out Tony Iommi's, Tony Iommi" the Album version lays down a marker from Mr Lifeson to Mr Iommi in case of, "imitation as a genuine show of respect like flattery" but it's not actually what you can call, imitation because Alex is authentic to the bone and as often is said, he's underrated, humble and let's his guitar playing say it all. He's a class Act that every Rush fan knows. He's doesn't court the limelight.
