Today we’re doing a video walkthrough of how to assemble your standing Jarvis desk by Fully using a custom tabletop from IKEA. The provided instructions are great, but we found a flaw in the order of the instructions which we’ll mention in the video with a remedy. We include some tips on how to make the process smoother that start out with the most basic tips, and increase in complexity as the process goes on. All in all, without filming, this assembly would’ve taken 2 hours total.
[1] 1:14 - Preparation
[2] 2:12 - Assembly 1/2 (Steps 1-3)
[3] 3:53 - Mistake (Steps 4-6) (in the instructions and how to fix it)
[4] 6:20 - Assembly 2/2 (Steps 7-13)
[5] 9:27 - Programming
[6] 10:06 - Fixtures
[7] 10:28 - Conclusion
I can completely recommend the desk kit to use with your own tabletop, and I’m happy to answer any other questions you may have. If you’ve found this video helpful, please be sure to leave a like below to support the channel as well as subscribe for more content in the near future. Have a great day!

Hello, @Ruslan Tulupov, thank you very much for the detailed description. My question is about the following: 1- How many minutes does it take to full stand and fully sit back 2- How much power does it consume for example is the motor 100W or less 3- What is the rate of the output electricity that the adapter produces 4- Does it have extra noise in addition to the noise of the motor 5- How much weight can it lift 6- Lastly, can you share a photo of the adapter to see the electricity consumption and so on Thank you very much Fazal from Afghanistan

What do you mean putting the lifting column on the left (if control panel is on the right)? I thought fully jarvis was dual motor?
@RuslanTulupov
@RuslanTulupov 4 жыл бұрын
There’s a frame end with capture plate (for the black box into which the wires go) and a frame end without a capture plate (no black box). Frame end + leg with “control box” goes on the opposite side of where you want the buttons to go. Correct, dual motor

Great Video! Question: Were there any issues with fastening screws into the hollowed cardboard Ikea desk? I'm assuming you have the Linnmon desktop? Were the screws secure? Thanks!
@RuslanTulupov
@RuslanTulupov 4 жыл бұрын
Not at all. I was fortunate (unfortunate?) enough to hit the internal wooden supports with a few of the screws. I had to be careful during the assembly process not to lift the frames with only 1-2 screws attached but once they were all in it was a strong bond. Screws were secure (but had to be careful not to over tighten and strip the wood). Yessir - Linnmon.
@qh219
@qh219 4 жыл бұрын
It seems both ends (left and right) of the Linnmon tabletop are solid particleboard where you can safely screw. This is also where the pre-drilled mounting holes are. You're right that the majority of the structure is hollow honeycomb paper, so don't drill there. This video might be helpful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6exg4xso8ann7s

Thank you for this video! I'm super scared of messing up when assembling my standing desk with a separate table top... Can you help provide recommendations to power drills / dremels I should be using, along with the dimensions for the holes I would need to drill? I don't want to make the mistake of drilling a hole that's too big and ruin my table top... Any other words of advice/caution would be greatly appreciated!

Apologies for not replying sooner! I don’t get notifications for all comments for some reason... The drill holes are super simple! Thickness: I didn’t use a specific measurement, the way I measure it is by eye, I pick a drillbit that’s slightly thinner than the inside, solid metal part of the screw (ignoring the grooves). Depth: I controlled the Dremel by hand but if you want to be super cautious, you can measure the thickness of the table top, Measure the same distance on the drillbit, then cover the rest tightly in a thick roll of tape. When drilling, don’t press too hard, or the tape can bunch up and go deeper than intended. I hope that helps, and if you already did the installation hope it went well!

Thanks for this fantastic video!!! Your video was very useful in installing my own desktop on a Jarvis frame. One quick question - my destop is not "sitting" on the frame. There is a gap between the steel frame and the wooden desktop. It looks like there were rubber washers preinstalled for each of the screw which connects between the frame and desktop. I just feel like that with all the monitors etc the weight is being put on a very small pressure points which may damage the desktop in the long run. Is it supposed to be like that?
@RuslanTulupov
@RuslanTulupov 4 жыл бұрын
Hi John, thank you for the kind words and for enjoying the video! Yes, that is as intended, in my experience it has not damaged or warped a Linnmon tabletop after a year of use (and the Linnmon is hollow on the inside) and has not negatively impacted a new thick tabletop as of a few months ago. My experience only goes up to about a year with tabletops so I can update this comment should things change.

XRuslan Tulupov having trouble screwing in for the linmon table. Screws are not stable and it keeps coming out. Tried different drill bit sizes, not sure what the issue is here. Wondering if it’s table top issue. Did you encounter anything similar? Do you know the solution? Thanks
@RuslanTulupov
@RuslanTulupov 3 жыл бұрын
Are the screws loose? That might be an indicator that the holes are too large - an adjustment in position and re-drilling with a smaller drill bit will fix that. No similar issues - using a soft tabletop with a malleable material might cause issues - mine was pretty solid

Thank you for the video. I have a 72” x 37.5” desk. What measurements (if any) would change during step 3? Because my desk is deeper, would 6.75” be enough length?
@RuslanTulupov
@RuslanTulupov 4 жыл бұрын
27”-30” desks are supposed to be 6.75” I’m not exactly sure because it would depend on where you plan on distributing the weight on the desk (front or back heavy). Personally, I would determine that first and then either shift 0.5”-1.25” depending on where the weight will go. (Hope that helps..)
