Russ Abbot is an English musician, comedian and actor. Born in Chester, he first came to public notice during the 1970s as the singer and drummer with British comedy showband the Black Abbots, later forging a prominent solo career as a television comedian with his own weekly show on British television.

I loved your shows when I was a kid in the 80s I even got to share a stage with you at the bradford alhambra you were doing panto and you invited kids up from the audience and gave us sweets you asked us what we got for Christmas and that year I got a snooker table and you quized me on what the colours were worth il never forget meeting me you utter legend ❤

I still miss you, am sure you were on, for too short a while, "Last of The Summer Wine". You look really good, would love to see you in other good sitcoms or longer. I could not, as a teenager , understand why your excellent Show with you a brilliant comedian just disappeared off our Screens on our usual Entertaining Saturday nights, your Show being the funniest and the Best. If it is possible for you to come back on any Night, the Youngsters of today ,will, mostly enjoy watching what their Parents watched and see the humour in it, as well as the tongue in cheek innuendos we laughed at. Glad you were made a Sir, you made ,maybe , millions of people laugh , and, that is great medicine for many people able to relax and let their bodies laugh their heads off, well almost. As a child born in 70s I grew up watching your shows. I would like to say thank you for making me and my family laugh.
