Thanks for highlighting this Russ, although to be honest it's not something that would annoy me but once it's pointed out I think it would be good to be able to have the option to choose. I wouldn't be too worried about the extra run time on the videos Russ as they are invaluable to the novice and expert alike. Many thanks. ATB... BILLY.

A bit late asking questions here but I only just ordered a Pard 008 LRFwhich I’m waiting to turn up, hopefully very soon now. Am concerned about my night vision being compromised after looking through the Pard but wondering whether ND filters might be a better option than coloured filters. They are commonly used in photography to reduce exposure and come in various levels of a grey tint. Just curious if you tried this as an option ? Cheers.
@RussDouglas2224 жыл бұрын
Sorry Ian I'm not aware of 'ND' filters? I'm going to use a green 37mm lens myself within the 'bellows' of the eyecup, any time I feel my vision is being compromised. Cheers. Russ
@ianashton8864 жыл бұрын
RussDouglas 222 Thanks replying Russ. Just got an email confirming my Pard is arriving tomorrow so I’m going to give a Neutral Density filter a try. If that doesn’t work out I’ll give green a go. Great hints and tips from yourself and Bruce on the channel which really helped me make the decision to go for the Pard. Must be a lot of work putting the videos together and it’s much appreciated. Cheers, Ian.

Hi Russ, I have recently bought the 008LRF and love it. One quick question, when zooming into 13x I partially lose the laser range finder figure. For example if something is 100meters away, I will see the '1' but the '00' is not visible. Do you know of anyway to fix this? Thanks in advance.
@RussDouglas2224 жыл бұрын
Hi Sam it's very cool kit isn't it? 👍🏻 Hmm when not zoomed: have you moved/'zeroed' the LRF aiming box to coincide with the LRF laser splash (at night / in overcast conditions) -at your chosen zero distance? The onscreen LRF aiming box can be moved via the menu as covered in the manual, written by Bruce. What wasn't covered (and might invalidate your warranty) is that the LRF splash itself can be re-directed, this has been covered on the UK NV forum and is a bit lengthy. Cheers. Russ

Now I can’t unsee the horizontal distortion 😂. What video editing software do you use?
@RussDouglas2223 жыл бұрын
You and me both Steve, I'm amazed it doesn't bug everyone but glad I'm not alone (sorry not sorry). :D I use Videopad, where I can either pre-process all raw videos to correct the screen ratio before editing, or add a 'ratio correction' effect (from 16:9 back to 4:3) to individual scenes during editing. Cheers. Russ

Is the built in ir not good enough on it's own?

It's good, but only out to 150m (though it spots eyeshine considerably further), so if you want to extend shooting range and also extend battery life - add external IR. Cheers. Russ
