Guns are addictive just like gambling and sex and video games are. It's an addictive behavior for some people. With a gun they think they won't have to be afraid anymore. They can make other people afraid instead. That makes them feel strong and powerful, something they can't get anywhere else. Somebody really needs to study this phenomenon. I don't respect or associate with people like that. It's not safe.

@danielseaburg97632 жыл бұрын
a civil militia. You and ya mates standing at dover stopping illegals from invading would be considered a militia, and thus, justified.
@davedavids572 жыл бұрын
Yer the definition of a militia is just civilians under arms. Look at Ukraine, once Russia attacked the government created a national militia. Grandmas, Grandpas and even Ukrainian billy bobs joined. They were told to bring any civilian held firearms with them, as logistics were almost impossible due to the war. It makes sense if you think about it, if everyone who wants to defend their countries has their own gun and ammo then it's very very hard for a hostile nation to mount a surprise attack by taking out your depots. The army is effectively everywhere. That's why in Switzerland every male has to have a gun at home.
@davedavids572 жыл бұрын
Also interesting fact a militia and paramilitary organisation is fairly well defined in UK law. The 1936 public order act was created to prevent militias (right and left) from existing without government approval. Under that simply wearing an armband, or saying an oath would count as membership. The Home Guard is a good example of a government organised UK militia. For the first 6 months of it's existing it wasn't issued with weapons and was expected to bring (privately owned firearms) and make (petrol bombs, even knives on poles) it's own weapons. Watch the first two series of Dad's army. That's what a militia is. Corporal Jones the Butcher is the definition of a Billy Bob :p Also Captain mainwaring trying to get the privately owned shot gun in the first episode. The US Home Guard (which did exist) didn't have such problems!!

This is so extremely tragically sad. The US, a country with more guns than people, see guns as a right. A right to kill other people. To protect themselves, from other people with guns. The killing isn't stopping, it's getting worse. Some call themselves "pro gun". What does that even mean? Does that mean that they cheer whenever yet another school- or mass shooting occurs? DO they celebrate the number of victims? Do they keep the scores? Or maybe they grab all of their guns, jump into their oversized trucks and drive to the place of the massacre, hoping to kill some more? Nobody seems to feel safe in the US...one wonders why. And what do they do to get rid of this feeling of insecurity? They buy guns. For themselves, and for their children. Machine guns for girls. Why not. They don't see the negative spiral, and they make sure their children don't see it either. They just repeat the mantras, the slogans, the lies. It's all about our freedom, son. The freedom to kill each other. Yeah, because the other guy has that freedom too, and he has guns, so we buy more guns. And yet we feel unsafe. How is that even possible?

@@Anon54387 Human life is a fundamental right. Guns are gadgets, designed and intended to end human life. Guns are not a right. They are a choice. A bad choice, for that matter. I can live a gun-free life in a country where nobody needs a gun. That proves beyond the shadow of a doubt that they are no right in any form, nor a need. We can live perfectly without them. The are not a necessity. We don't want them. And seeing what sort of misery they cause in the US, makes us resent them. We are all very happy and blessed to be able to live in a free country, where you don't need these lethal things to feel safe. The reason for the 2A is hundreds of years out of date. King George is dead and there are no Redcoats. The government has never been even remotely liable of oppressing the people to a degree to cause a national uprising. Get your heads out of your arses and your arses out of the early 1800's There are only 3 countries only the planet have Gun Rights, 3 ban guns completely and the rest have various levels of control.

Cz is one of the 3 countries in the world where gun ownership is a right, but there are still more controls than there are in the US and the Czs dont kill anywhere near as many people as the Yanks do. So the problem is the Yanks. The US allows too many idiots, mentally ill and criminals access to guns, hence the problem. The murder rate of Cz in 2021 was 0.7, in the UK it was 1.17/100,000. This included murders by all methods. Would be more useful to use figures for murders by firearms. When you've done that compare them to the US, not each other as that is immaterial.
