I'll take either. I definitely gravitate towards the ER more. I love the new VA ABC system for allocated bottles. I don't get FOMO and I don't spend too much in an "allocation fury". Now I may get this or that right off the shelf! And I am OK with that

I think most of us in the comments are in agreement. ER is probably the slightly better of the two. It's nice to know that there is something relatively close out there that just sits on the shelf. 🥃

Great video! Russell's Reserve 10 was one of those bottles I bought early in this journey. A 10 year bourbon that was $35 at the time before I ever saw a bottle of ER. Cheers!🥃

No surprise, both are great pours. I slightly lean towards the ER, but there are days I prefer the RR. If I want sweet, then ER, if I want a little more spice, then RR…but very close and both are enter-changeable.

There's a lot of contributing factors to good vs great whiskey, but I will keep it simple and say the whiskey can be good but if the finish falls flat or is very short it can't be great. Finish is just as important as the palette. If I'm blinding a flight and they all are good I'm searching for the long finish (amongst other things) but really the finish. This is not a knock on you or this video but at this point people need to stop doing comparisons with Buffalo Trace products or anything allocated. The best whiskey is the one you can find and afford. And I don’t want to hear any BS about “oh we have Eagle rare everywhere in my town”. Well guess what, it’s still allocated. Never seen a bottle in my LIFE. Sure a comparison on merit can be made, but for what reason? A video? Cause I’m sure not using this to make my decision cause one of these options is unobtainium where I live.

Hey I get where you are coming from. But remember that all these channels have viewers from all over. Some in your situation, some not. So they make videos for every situation. It’s just like reviews for bottles my state doesn’t even sell. I watch hoping that in my travels I’ll find a bottle someday.

Thanks for the comment. This content is for everyone, especially those who have it in their market. I know Eagle Rare isn't everywhere, and that's why I do these videos. It's to let people know that if you can't get this, then pick up that. I try to take some of the lure out of these bottles. Most of the time, B-trace products don't do well or score high in a lot of people's blinds. 🥃
