I was once a fan that always says "WestBrick" or "WestChoke" since he got lots of turnovers, bricks and bad mistakes in the past. But NOW, this guy is playing out of his mind and incredibly super CLUTCH according to the stats this season. So I have major respect for Westbrook now and he should rightfully be MVP. And for those who still says "WestBrick", OPEN YOUR EYES cause he is "one of a kind" player...

Russ is playing with the worst supporting cast for a superstar since Iverson in 01. Even Lebron's Cleveland teams had shooters everywhere and decent offensive options, plus he was buffered by a top 5 Cavs defense. Harden will probably win the award, but Russ is clearly more valuable to his team than Harden is to his.

I do agree, Rockets do have the better talent, especially with the Williams trade, but Rockets have the 3rd best record in the league and probably would be one of the worst if it wasn't for Harden. That's kinda how I look at it
@juanpoo7
@juanpoo7 7 жыл бұрын
Sam Leiding. Westbrook is more valuable then Harden. If both Harden and Russ just dropped dead, Houston is WAAAYYYY better than OKC and everyone knows it. And people who say Russ gets too many turnovers forget that Harden is averaging just as many turnovers and is also averaging under 50% shooting (both are in the 40s). Now for those saying that Russ' triple doubles aren't really special well, he is leading the entire NBA in scoring. Let me say that again, on top of AVERAGING TRIPLE DOUBLES, he is ALSO leading the league in scoring. Now let's look at defense, nvm we all know about Harden's defense, on almost any NBA video there was was a user named "James Har_den" for a reason. The only stat in which Harden is better at then Russ is efficiency, and it's much better to be efficient when you have a WAAYYY better supporting cast than Russ does. And even when you aren't looking at the numbers (which Russ still wins in), you can always look at the game film or the highlights, and everyone (including you) has seen Russ' play this season, while Kyrie has produced more highlights then Harden.

lebron james jr hardens a better passer defender team leader. hes averaging 11 assist despite it being his first year at pg. westbrook statpads his usage rate is extreme he only passes when he cant shoot and he leads the league in uncontested defencive rebounds. he leads the league in fga in hes extremely inefficient. opponent shoot 51% on westbrook and 44% on harden. also those triple doubles you love so much harden has 2 50 point triple doubles. how many does westbrook have 0

I was with Skip on this one. He was speaking truth. You can put mix of Kawahi, Draymond, Beverly and Butler against him, but still, this transcendent, monstrous defender wouldn't be able to lock down Westbrook yesterday. If Russ heats up, then no one can't stand in his way.

Give the man the MVP. Their team is already in Playoffs no matter what position they are. He took them to playoffs by himself. You take him away, then okc would've probably in 10th or 11th right now. Those triple doubles is what got okc in the position they are now.

Westbrook is continuing to mature as a player and regardless what we have to say about him,the young man has the desire to win. we may not like some of the choices that he makes on the court, but it's obvious that Westbrook is constantly evolving. the guy is a beast period. he is my favorite player in the NBA.

Everyone keeps saying "Harden has better teammates, Harden has shooters, and its D'Antoni System.." But what everyone failed to realized is that those shooters on the Rockets would never have open looks if it weren't for Harden creating for them. D'Antoni's system in today's NBA is pretty much common with a lot of teams. Many NBA teams, most notably the Warriors uses some form of D'Antoni's system but modified it to fit their players and team. Remember, Steve Kerr was the GM for that D'Antoni's Suns team during the mid 2000s. People can use the D'Antoni's system and Harden having better shooters than Westbrook as an excuse all they want but there's no doubt what Harden is doing is incredibly special. He creates so much for his team offensively. He is 3rd in PPG, and according to NBA.com, he leads the NBA in isolation scoring. James Harden is creating so much opportunities for his teammates and gives them opportunities to score. I'm not taking anything away from Russell Westbrook because averaging a triple double and doing what he's doing every night is unbelievable and deserves lots of credit. But MVP is the case of the Most Valuable and winning games is more valuable than putting up stats alone.

Here's the issue with the Westbrook hype; The Thunder are in the bottom half of the playoffs. Name me an MVP in recent history who's team was in the bottom of the playoff rankings! Kobe would've won MVP if Phoenix didn't smack them around in the rankings, so Nash won that. Harden had a much better stat year than Curry did two years ago. However, the #1 seed beat out Houston by a sizeable amount. Derrick Rose won because he had the top team in the league. Lebron averaged more in points, rebounds, and only .7 assists less. He was better defensively, and proved it all in the playoffs. Stats don't beat stats if your team's success isn't comparable.

@hawxtv2574

If the thunder reach the 4th seed by the end of the season, then yes it easily goes to Westbrook. If the thunder fall to the 7th seed and the rockets are at around the second or third seed by the end of the season then it goes to harden. Harden has been too damn good and his team has been too successful this season for him not to get it, he's already been snubbed once when the rockets were good and he was their leader, doubt it happens again. Also, these triple double arguments are in favor of harden as well, dude dropped 53, 17 and 16 that's literally outlandish and unheard of on the basketball court and he did it like it's his job. Harden has been crazy efficient and has run the rockets about as well as he possibly can.
@juanpoo7
@juanpoo7 7 жыл бұрын
Grant McKee People saying that Harden should get it over Westbrook because of wins are just as dumb as the people who said that Harden got robbed last year when the rockets were the 8th seed while Curry's Warriors went 73-9. It's literally hypocrisy.

RUNNING AWAY!!! This is the ONLY time I agree with Skip "Intentionally Irrational" Baseless. Westbrook walked through the best defensive team in the NBA this year.... and he did it with virtual EASE. Shannon is right, though. In a playoff series most teams are probably just going to trap Russ, get the ball out of his hands and make him frustrated by denying him the ball.

Harden is third in the league in scoring, 1st in assists, 1st in double doubles, 2nd in triple doubles, 2 50 point triple double games only player in NBA history with 2 50 point triple doubles in a season also the only player in NBA history with a 50,15,15 game, 5 40 point triple doubles tied with Westbrook, and his team is 42-19 " "John Love" so your comparison with McGee and Westbrook is irrelevant Harden stats are right up there with Westbrooks
