@joos1joos9262 жыл бұрын
Skip and Shannon Sharp,the jig is up for Russ. It's like the poet said, "The past is an epoch that can never return,the future is one that can never be reached, it is in the present moment that all we seek and hope for can be obtained." Russ didn't expand his game. It's not a roster in the league,with a starting point guard that can't shoot a spot up. So, there's no sympathy for Russ. Matter of fact, sympathy in the NBA is a counterfeit emotion for a sucker. I'm old enough to remember when Magic,Jason Kidd,Ja Morat and others could not shoot a lick when they came into league. But they all did the Micheal Jackson and went and look at, " The Man in the Mirror." And went and got respectable 3pt set shots. Russ has had 14yrs in the league to address this fatal flaw in his game. Now,it's time to get real. Russ showed up as Brody and became known as Westbrick,wearing a dress and Crip Walking the ball up the court. These are his sins and the Basketball Gods are seeking retribution. In Chicago the old head playground dudes use to say, " Be true to the game and the game will be true to you."

Russ sacrificed to play for the Lakers only to take the most of the blame sans Vogel. Vogel even admitted during the season that Russ made arguably more sacrifices than anyone to the team trying to adjust and find his role for the Lakers. Russ doesn't want to play for the Lakers, his hometown and childhood favorite team might I add, but was the only player present at Coach Ham's introduction? Or sitting next to the Lakers' Summer League bench? That doesn't make any sense. Russ could've just taken the bag after opting in and stayed home. He knows the team is trying to move heaven & Earth to get rid of him. We're only hearing one side of the split and the agent never explicitly stated the reason for the split except for irreconcilable differences. That literally can mean anything. Even Woj stated that Russ gave absolutely no indication that he wants to leave after having several conversations with him. Again, this the media painting Russ as the villain so he can be the scape goat. Also, Kyrie was painted as someone that ruins franchises now all of a sudden they're clamoring for him to go to Lakers? So what happens when that boat eventually sinks? Who will catch the blame then? Kyrie doesn't solve ANY of the team's defensive woes and his availability raises even more questions on a team where the two best players haven't been that available! Make it make sense!

The agent is right though Russell should just play out his last year of the deal. The Lakers will have to give assets for another team to take him and even then, he would get bought out immediately. And if you've noticed, any top end player that has gone through a move like that never regained the same level of contract again. It's possible Russ could buck the trend but I don't think he is capable of playing his way to another big long term deal.

I think Russ knows what seems logical on paper. To stay in LA and play it out, but you guys gotta see it from Russ point of view. He doesn't trust the Lakers. They threw him under the bus. Sabotaged him and scapegoated him. Now it is his contract year. He is very prideful. He wants to redeem himself. It just feels like it's unwarranted hate and an unfair chance with the Lakers. It's also not easy to suit up everyday knowing that the Lakers want you to play well simply so they can trade you. I'd rather just leave before the seasons starts and find a way to make it work elsewhere, where I'm notmworried about being traded any day.

I hate that people acting like Russ ain’t still Russ he’s been turning the ball over and not being a good shooter saying he fell off when he still averaged 17-8-8 after taking a backseat and losing 10-15 possessions every game he would’ve been right on track had he went anywhere else this is just simply not a good fit

russ had 10 good games out 80 bruhh thats not gonna cut it but you have a point that he was available. we just dont care about availability we want production and efficiently at that

If anything, why didn’t he play better? He didn’t have to fit his game to play w lebron and AD since they missed so many games. He only played somewhat decent at the end of the season

"Oh Westbrook had a terrible year, he just can't shoot. He looked completely washed." Says all the people who dream to have half his talent. Can I give you his averages? 34.3 min per game(3rd fewest in his career) 18.5 pts 7.4 rebs 7 assists 44.5 FG%(higher then his MVP season) 30% from 3(which is his career average) Yes the 30% is bad but people need to stop acting like he was just going to magically become a 45% shooter in LA.

Forgot to mention that his FT% has been declining every year and led the Lakers in turnovers despite a much lower usage rate compared to previous seasons. Imagine trying to defend his 30% 3pt FG%, which is literally the lowest among active players. Centers are shooting better than Russ from 3pt. You thought you were spitting lol

I liked “Waterworld” too Skip! I think ppl rag on it bc it’s cool to. It’s really not a terrible movie, I mean, Dennis Hopper is the bad guy!!! That alone is worth the price of admission to watch. In my opinion any movie that is fun to watch isn’t a bad movie. I’d give “Waterworld” a “c” grade. Not great, Not terrible.

The Lakers made a big 3 last year surrounded with old superstars like Melo and Dwight and “C and D” class players. 2 of the big 3 were out for 35-45 games. That left Russ alone with a bad team in a stacked western conference. It’s crazy the amount of hate he’s getting. Up until they got eliminated he had only missed ONE game. Led the lakers in points, rebounds, and steals. This is crazy.

Yo the Russ slander on undisputed is getting ridiculous, agendas is what it is, Shannon for lebron and skip for Kd. Shannon talks about accountability but says nothing about lebron’s lack of defense or his finger pointing. So let me get this straight, it makes more sense for Russ 2 come off the ball than bron in year 20? Y is that exactly? is bron a worst off ball player than russ? And don’t give me a better on ball player when all it does it is leaves him tired in the forth. They scapegoating russ cause they don’t wanna criticize lebron for not making the proper adjustments for his team. Want russ to fit? Bron gotta play off ball. Not rocket science

@DualityUnlimited2 жыл бұрын
@@ochomunna270 Are you a Lebron fan ? When Lebron leads the league in turnovers no one says anything. When Lebron and AD play poorly crickets. Westbrook had a down year he’s still an elite player. Everyone must change in order for the team to play better it’s not all on Russ. They make it seem like he isn’t an NBA starter and almost shouldn’t even be in the league. Shannon was talking about his Leadership which he’s been renowned for on literally every time with the exception being this incarnation of the Lakers. I don’t know why I wasted my time explaining the nuances of Basketball to a casual.

@@DualityUnlimited What do you mean when LeBron / AD play poorly nobody says a thing? AD has been a laughing stock for a while now "street clothes". Everybody is saying he doesn't take care of his body. Nobody excuses him for his injuries and started looking at his work ethic. LeBron has been always the headline - even when playing great got the most blame for the Lakers missing the playoffs. The Russ Westbrick narrative isn't made up. His inefficiency and high turnover has been going on for years now. To add to that, he doesn't even look at himself how he can improve. Blamed Vogel, the only guy who stuck with you until the end despite the Lakers org forcing him to bench Russ. You are in denial if you think Russ isn't a big chunk of the problem.
