He's done a lot more with a lot less and has carried the team on his back. Here are my 3 biggest takeaways from this: 1: Russ has to be one of the clutchest players of all time 2: DK Metcalf is something special, and could become an all-time great (at least imo) 3: Mike Hughes is really underrated. The vike's secondary's biggest weakness is lack of experience (as opposed to lack of talent), and if they can all start playing like mike, they could really have something next year.

@cameronadamson38094 жыл бұрын
About that run to start the video... 3 things I see that weren't mentioned. 1) Credit Barton with striking the FB outside shoulder and creating a containment edge. He had his outside shoulder completely free to grab/slow any attempt to bounce outside while forcing the RB to cut in his own backfield before getting a chance to really see things. I'm not a huge Barton fan, but he makes this play with that strike. 2) The RB got the ball so close to the FB contact point, no room to read and bounce. He had to take the ball and like you said, run between common colors. His mistake was the angle of that first step after getting the ball. He ran into the back of the FB instead of predicting/reading that the gap would be to the left. I think if his angle was steeper and aimed at the hole versus back of the FB, he beats Wagner enough to the hole and gets the first down. It would have been an insanely athletic cut to make it outside Bartons free outside containment arms and any slowdown would be met by pursuit before he got the first. If he just got more North/South with his line he would have picked it up with speed to the hole. 3) Bobby Wagner is a wizard of a LB. We are so freaking spoiled to have him and KJ for so many years.
@erbgorre4 жыл бұрын
the vikings fullback was throwing massive blocks all game, so im pretty sure the RB just assumed he would win the 1on1 collision again and all hed have to do was follow right behind for an easy 1st down. but yeah, this one time, when the chips were down, barton squared that FB up completely and thats what killed the run.

Fantastic breakdown! Love the way you show the route concepts, and the defense's pass rush and coverage strategies, and the incredible amount of information a QB has to process in the blink of an eye and then make a decision and physically execute it, with precision. Also fantastic, something you call attention to, was how several times during the drive, Russell avoided the negative play, avoided the sack, and lived to fight another down. Additional kudos on showing how the rain affected Russell's throwing accuracy, with the missed throws. Seattle was lucky, and good, to win, while Minny was good, but not lucky when it counted most. Truly a chess match between the two coaches, and just an unbelievably excellent breakdown!

After that miss to Moore he was pinpoint, the only throws that could’ve been better was the cover 2 beater to Metcalf and the goal line out to Lockett. I would expect them to make those plays, if you’re usually getting balls on an elite throw, you gotta catch them when they’re not elite.

Also on the 4th and goal I don’t think you talked about the b&r from Olsen, when I saw it live I saw Olsen just disregarding his block and going out for a route that ultimately wouldn’t have gotten a td. @@wes3764 If the refs were pricks they could call a hold on every play. Missed calls and bad calls happen ALL the Time. It averages out. What does that have to do with the darts he threw to Gallup? A lot of QBs couldn't drop a dime like that as fast as he was moving. Especially across their body. Give some creds where they are due. Easy to say in hindsight but as a hawks fan I was praying they would kick it and give Russ a chance vs. getting a couple inches which they had no problem doing the whole game. I'm sure Zimmerman was thinking the same and most people were too including the two commentators on the broadcast. Plus even he does manage the score they still had some time to get field goal range on the other end to win the game.
@mikerowe37764 жыл бұрын
Rico Alexander that’s a fair point. And agreed the commenters agreed to it. I’ll be honest though for me it wasn’t hindsight I was thinking kick all the way only because kicking the field goal and then the kick off would have taken off time and with the rain I was thinking an increased chance of screwing up the return. I was thinking that it was less likely to score AND get the 2 pts conversion with time left. But in the end you’re right... if they get the first down then I was wrong 🤷🏼♂️

If RW didn't have to score 28 points a game he wouldn't. If you know what I mean. Gotta fix that defense.

The NFL must address the lack of offensive holding calls. I mean, it's on every play. This is not "sour grapes" as this happens (or fails to happen) with both teams.

at 17:17 "check out Russell Wilson's base" don't we all?

As a Seahawks fan, Minnesota had been ramming it down our throats all night. I seriously thought they would convert on that play. I don't think it was a bad call, if the tables were turned and Pete had to make that call I would have backed him based on how the rest of the game went. They tried to shove a knife in our chests after cutting us for almost an hour and wanted to make sure we were dead, but we rolled a nat 20 and made them pay.

12:52 I wouldn’t throw that tho. LB running right there unless it’s a low ball.
@darrynfrost34014 жыл бұрын
If he threw it immediately as the receiver hit the 20 yard line, the LB would not make it there.

Best overall QB in the NFL. I think only Mahomes and Rodgers are close.

Can you try to refrain from saying: " being ?" That isn't very in-depth, and I would like to hear more about your opinions on what's going on, and why he is consistently able to pull these plays off. Thanks!
