I’m here Dec 2024 having been enjoying a late Sunday afternoon Billy Connolly fest. I am not usually personally affected when famous people pass away. But before watching this video and seeing this comment I had already been thinking that I definitely would be really upset for only two people: Billy and Sir David Attenborough. And at 98 I think Sir David has probably earned the right to be a little preachy but I am biased because he is one of my heroes. I like Russell Howard as a comedian but I think he is also a really good interviewer these days. But back to Billy. He’s unique, brilliant and always windswept and interesting.

The word legend is overused but it is appropriate to describe Billy Connolly as one of comedy.

When Robin Williams passed, I remember how people spontaneously circulated pictures of themselves standing on their desk in his honour. Maybe when our dear Billy passes, we should all take selfies with a tea cosy on our heads. And wear them proudly, as our windswept and interesting guru would. It’s just so wonderful seeing Billy so engaged and mentally in the conversation! The last bunch of interviews he did a year or so ago for his drawings he just seemed drained and distant. I’m assuming it was a meds issue…but it’s so nice to see Billy is so still there!
@22Phantasm3 жыл бұрын
Great points.... also he seemed very happy and willing too. I think that Billy enjoys chatting with people who want to chat about stuff, not just his condition. And it helps that Russell is a very good listener who thinks of Billy as the best, which he is.
@pseudonayme77173 жыл бұрын
I think he may be getting CBD oil, since it is legit in the UK now. It is meant to be really great medication for Parkinsons - and a whole host of other conditions. Maybe he's getting the real stuff in edible form, which is even better I am assured😉

That was so weird! I was thinking of Billy earlier on this evening as he is one of my favourite comedians and people in general. I thought nothing more about it and watched a bunch of other KZbin videos (totally unconnected to comedy or anything). I was then looking for impressions and eventually stumbled upon Russel Howards video about Britain not needing someone like Boris Johnson in a time of trouble (very funny video btw). I then scrolled through Russell's other clips and this was one of the first I came across. Thank you so much Russell and Billy, nothing is coincidental!
