This is my Point-1 configuration, except my dual HDS console units are in global with the single HDS bow unit in local.

If an xi3 trolling motor is on the bow should the gps be on the trolling motor gps instead of the internal unit gps

Heading up usually makes sense as the best choice, but that has nothing to do with the map spin. Selecting the Point-1 as the heading source under Vessel is what eliminates the map spin. Do this for all units on the boat.

After time, when you have input waypoints from each unit and how do you differentiate where they came from as your looking at them? Networked together they should share waypoints. Example, you are idling around and enter a rock pile as waypoint on the console (the PRO 10” in video), but later your on the bow unit (HDS Live 12 in video) looking at that rock pile waypoint. How do you know which unit it was input on, which could change the distance you are away from it by a boat length basically.

It doesn't matter where the waypoint was created. It is showing you a coordinate in relation to the graph you are viewing it on. That's where heading comes into play!

Is there a specific reason you are mounting the point one at the back of the boat?… I have a hole in the deck from factory mounted unit that I was wanting to cover with my point one.. would it be OK to mount the one at the front of the boat?

You want the Point-1 as close to your rear transducer as possible. If you have it on the front of your boat you will be marking structure etc from that location. So say your point-1 is 15 feet away from your transducer, your marks will be 15 feet off.

My bow graph doesn't have a transducer. I'm sharing from my console unit. Should the Bow unit still getting GPS from the unit or switch it to the Point one?

@@lucricher8023 the answer depends. If waypoints are usually saved at the console unit, but navigated to using the bow unit, then yes, set the bow unit GPS (antenna) to local. However, if he saves a waypoint at the bow because of what he sees on the transom transducer, his waypoint will be in error by a boat-length. There is no great accuracy fix for multiple units with only one transducer on the boat.
