Nah. I go to the most premium gym in my city that is the size of Houston. They have a sauna, spa, better air conditioning, heavier dumbbells than this, more cardio machines, more fixed machines like the leg press/chest press, more cable machines, outdoor crossfit-type area, yoga/team workout space for courses. And it is half of the subscription price you mentioned.

@@MichaelAveryMusic yeah, but I do want to admit that my gym doesn't have calibrated plates, they are from Eleiko, but generic Chinese compact rubber plates. I'm also in Europe so the membership might be cheaper here than it is in US.

@@Lars16 Bigger gyms are often much cheaper. They rely on a huge % of the base to not even attend the gym, and then can use that as a cushion for profit margin. A serious gym is always much more expensive since more members actually attend. It's not really a US vs Europe thing, there are plenty of gyms that are 10-25 a month if you're getting the normie treatment.

Tbh to open up a CrossFit type of gym It cost about $40,000 or maybe less. My friend opened a CrossFit gym back in 2010. Started off with a junk small building for $10,000 and invested $11,000 for equipment. Today he’s moved into a bigger building that has powerlifting and CrossFit combine! Now he’s making that bank

Just keep going man! I knew I wanted to build a gym when I were 18, almost 21 now. I started from 0, no help from parents etc. And saved up over 15 000 $ im still quite far away. But i keep telling myself that one day i make it. I know a dude that bought equipment over the span of 2 years for a total of 20 000 $ for his gym. And then he started. So as Russel says, do what you can do with what you have. You will make it if its a dream goal! 👊🏼 ( he found cheap and great deals for his equipment )

Good luck man. The place looks great and I wish you the best. My buddy opened a small gym back in 2016. I'm guessing he didn't realize how much cost and work was actually involved with owning and operating a gym. He was living minimum wage basically. He recently sold the majority of his share and went back to his old day job. Business is a crapshoot and I'm not a gambling man.

I want to build a gym that sets the bar high for people that go there: I want it to be tailored to influencers, power lifters and top notch athletes in the realm of mma, hybrid gym with wrestling mats and bags. Similar to pure muscle, but smaller, similar to ufc gyms, but more budgeted. Best equipment, great lighting, a positive atmosphere. Setting the budget at $500,000, realistically could to it a lot less because a majority of the construction of the building I could do myself. Wish me luck boys, life goal to make it happen before I turn 30. Planning on setting up shop in monument, CO

I'd probably stay away from custom made stuff, weights get thrown around, chipped, cracked and need to be replaced; if you have a custom made decal on all of your weights you'd have to order it again with that decal if you want the same aesthetic. Also I heard the most profitable way to have a gym is to fill it with cardio equipment so non-gym regulars have something to do and still pay for their membership but don't attend as often - the average person will never touch a barbell or any equipment associated with a barbell. Not sure about powerlifting gyms and their profitability but I know for commercial gyms they usually invest in cardio areas taking 90% of the gym due to trying to get the "non-exercising" market.
