Russia launches strike on Kharkiv as civilians evacuate

Ukrainian commanders are watching President Putin’s troops advancing into the Kharkiv region and calculating the motive behind his latest move.
They lost more border villages on Monday morning, taking to 11 the number of settlements captured by the Russians since the offensive began on Friday.
But is this a feint designed to draw Ukrainian reserves away from the battle for Chasiv Yar, an important strategic position in the Donbas? Or a genuine assault on Ukraine’s second largest city and former capital?
