On August 16, Ukraine struck a Kerch ferry crossing and a boat near Chernomorsk, with damage details unclear. Explosions were reported in Crimea. A Russian Tu-22M3 bomber crashed in Siberia, killing one crew member. Putin’s aide, Nikolay Patrushev, claimed Ukraine's Kursk incursion was supported by the US and NATO. Ukraine announced a new military office in Kursk, and the US is considering supplying Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles (JASSM) to Ukraine amid concerns about ammunition shortages for its offensives.

The Ukrainian government is lawfully defending their territory with their OWN LEGALLY CONSTITUTED MILITARY. They are not TERRORISTS. Defending your own territory _IS_ self-defense.
