Europe could have gone green. We had 20 years to do so. Instead, because it was easier and more convenient we demolished our solar panel and other manufacturing because its poluting. Let other countries worry about that. So we relied on china, and did very little actual work to that goal. Closed the nuclear plants too. The bierocrats made sure to follow the out of sight out of mind principle. And now they want to rapidly go green. You cant. You had the time before, now it will take decades to turn the plants bacl on amd rebuild manufacturing.

It's not enough to offset the lost volumes to Europe. There is only one pipeline to China (Power of Siberia, max 38bcm) and no pipeline whatsoever to India so India must use slow and expensive LNG transport. The volumes lost after cutting off Europe are multiples of amounts sent to China and India. And Putin has to reduce prices of these exports due to a major decrease in demand for it.

Putin's Russia has lost almost $90B in gas revenue just from 2022 and 2023. The volume of exports to China and India are only fractions of this. Putin has to sell his natural gas at a significant discount (up to 40%) due to decreased demand. The Ruble is at all-time historic lows. Major economic inflation is setting in within the economy while Russia's central bank interest rates are rising. All while military spending is at all-time highs. The best of Russia has fled, and the population of working age men has been significantly reduced. Any survivors coming back are never going to be the same with physical and mental wounds.
